In terms of defensive ability, I think the Dumars comparison is apt. Not quite as physical a defender nor as good a distributor as Joe was, though.

Bradley's speed and quickness reminds me a little of Joe's backcourt mate, Isiah. Nowhere near the handle, though.

I also see a lot of the "good Tony Allen" in Bradley. The same defensive intensity and attacker's mentality on offense.

So far as a heavy minutes player Avery has hit his pull up jumpers and corner threes at a higher rate than Allen, though.

Makes him harder to defend overall, less bullheaded or turnover prone on crazy drives to the rim.

I think of Bradley as more of a faster, shorter Greg Ostertag.  He's probably never going to hit the rebounding numbers of GO, but I think he will make up for that with assists and 3 point shooting.   ::)

Why do we have to force comparisons all the time?

Please don't compare Bradley to that blackhole

The comparison was more to AB's offensive productivity potential and physical attributes and similarities (although the combine #s say AB is a better athlete) than to Ellis' game as a whole.

If you told me right now that AB could O like Ellis can and be a premier defender to boot, I take that, black hole or no black hole.

True you got a point. I agree with that. I would love for Avery to have Ellis' offensive skill.
Just don't like shooting guards who only play the point because of their small size. Aka Westbrook, Rose, Ellis

Agreed, he's got the makings of a better shooter than Tony. I also think Bradley has a better sense of awareness/BBIQ.

There were a couple instances last night where Bradley forced things a little, or was going so fast he lost his handle. Those moments made me think of Tony.

Don't like the comparison at all.  Ellis's defense sucks and he's a high usage scorer.

AB defensively reminds me of Lindsey Hunter, undersized 2 who was a tremendous defender of PGs.

Offensively, he's a work in progress.  Hawkins was a long distance shooter, that's not in Bradley's game until recently, and he may just be on a streak or the opposition hasn't adjusted to him.

Brilliant!  I love that comparison.

How about his opposite number in this series as a comparison, Mr Kirk Hinrich?

In his younger years when Hinrich was with the Bulls, an All-League defensive guard who was a 16ppg and 6apg offensive threat. Could play both guard positions.

Well, considering hes already AT that level and hes still raw and young as heck, I would hardly cosider Hinrich bradleys "upside"

Defensively I like the Lindsay Hunter comparisons, only AB will be better.
Offensively he reminds me somewhat of Reggie Lewis.  I could see him getting to that level off the dribble.

If Bradley could develop the PG skills and defensive acumen that Hinrich possessed in his hey-day, I'd be very pleased.
