I dont know about you guys, but hes been out so long and he hasnt really improved, and the simple fact that he "needs offseason surgery" basically leads me to believe hes done for the year, and would rather sit out then risk further damage to his ankle, considering he stated he wants to be able to play next year and beyond.

So ive personally just accepted that hes out for the playoffs and we will ride or die with the team we have, and im fine with that. I still believe we can make a title run with the team we have right now. I wont be dissapointed if I hear news that Ray is out for the playoffs because ive basically accepted that hes done already in my opinion.

Yeah, it's pretty much a wrap for these playoffs.  His condition isn't getting any better - the only way he plays is if those bone spurs happen to fall to a place where they don't effect him as much when he plants and turns.

Oh well, more of the amazing Avery Bradley I guess

At this point it wouldnt surprise me. Talking about needing surgery in the offseason...Why wouldnt he need surgery now? i dont think they are "saving" him for another round; i just think he is hurt and will continue to be hurt.

I think he will too.  But it likely won't be until the later rounds (if we get there).  It just seems like once he does play, he'll only have so many games in him before he breaks down again.  The C's are basically saving him, hoping they can get to a point where he can have the biggest impact.  It's definitely a gamble, but given his condition, one I think they have no choice but to take.

Also, I have a request I'd like to ask the mods.

It seems we have about 10 different Ray Allen threads right now, which all are basically dealing with the same subject matter, just from somewhat different viewpoints.

Couldn't we just make one, all-encompassing Ray Allen thread or something?  It's a lot of work to keep up with all the different threads.

Ray played those 3 games ofd the bench pretty effectively before the shot wore off..so I think we are going to see him back. How soon, who knows

These are small bone spurs. Not the extent of kgs...and not as bad as an achilles injury

I see two on the first page, one dealing with the media the other dealing with the likelyhood of his return.

Definitely different enough to merit two separate topics. I'm sure there are other similar ones but they've fallen somewhat inactive so nothing wrong with new topics.

I'm hoping to see him back but I've just about resigned myself to him not returning based on the team's recent history with injuries.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

I agree.  I think they're holding off on his return based on him having a limited number of games where he could play.  if the team can at least get to the next round against the Bulls, I think that'll be the earliest we see him.

I truly think they'll hold him out until the tipping point in a later series where he could make a difference.  I could see him coming back if they were tied in the Bulls series 2-2 but not coming back if we're just plain getting our clocks cleaned in a series or to begin a series.
