Nah, everyone would have gotten a suspension for that except Kobe and LeBron, so it was fair.

I won't watch another Celtics game that Davis is officiating, though

Even Kobe or Lebron would have gotten a game for the chest bump.

Of course I wouldn't boycott -- heck, this is my major source of entertainment and Rondo deserved the suspension.
Well Kobe and 'Bron would never be in that situation because they get every call.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
No need to punish me for Rondo's wrongdoings.
I like Marcus Smart

You do realize that not watching the game would have absolutely zero affect on the league, right? The ads were all bought and paid for a long time ago and they are not purchased on a per game basis....so besides the fact that it makes no sense for any fan of a team to not watch what currently is the most important game of the season because the league executed its written rule exactly as laid out your boycott will have zero impact on anything. But enjoy reading about PP and KG leading the team to a game 2 win online on wednesday.

Is this a serious thread? I can't tell anymore on here

I just want to suggest that we all consider not watching Game 2 against the Hawks in response to the league suspending Rondo.  The game is on NBA TV, so what better way to protest than to lower NBA TV's ratings and hit the league in the wallet.

screw that.....its the playoffs. i want to see the game, regardless of the situation

Is there an established punishment for bumping a ref? Yes? At least a 1 game suspension, Yes? and someone suggests we boycott a game because we do not want that the rules that apply to every other player in the league not apply to us, yes? Why, cause we ARE the Boston Celtics and we are above the league rules, Yes?  I dont think we all want to do that, right?
I believe it is a well accepted axiom that everybody is responsible for his or own acts, unless the person doesnt know what he or she is doing or has no control over his or her actions? Have we presented to Stern our defense that Rondo didnt know what he was doing or he had no control over what he did? Maybe he can succesfully plead his case and not get suspended! Then we wouldnt have to boycott next game. DO IT!
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Pfft... so I'm not going to support the TEAM because one guy is out (his OWN fault)?! If it were Shaq (everyone knows I followed him no matter what) I would never forgo cheering on the team if he was suspended! I want the team to win and I want to support them no matter what, because as long as Shaq was on the team (suspended, benched, or injured), the team winning means he won! Even if everyone on CB "boycotts" the game, how is it going to even bother the ratings from the other millions of views? Yea, bad idea all around!

When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

No reason to not support the rest of the team while Rondo is out.

Is there a fan base more full of people with the "poor us, everybody is against us" mentality?

My god, the homerism is out of control here in Boston. I'm embarrassed.

I've read through a Lakers forum where their fans thinks David Stern hates LA more than Celtics fans think he hates Boston.

Maybe , the league needs to take a look at DAVIS and see if he SHOULD be a ref or maybe he is not qualified or professional enough.

If the owner takes the evidence to STERN and he does nothing...then sue the NBA and STERN...if enough owners fdo that ...maybe that four eyed little creep will gain a new attitude.

Considering that Rondo probably got half the suspension he deserved - a richly deserved game, to be sure - I have zero interest in taking any position in his behalf.

It was a stupid, selfish incident that hurt his team, his coaches and the people who support him.

Rondo deserves what he got. I'll be doing everything I always do with the C's on TV.

Right, because it's so hard to not put yourself above the team and go after a ref.

Why, i don't know how every other player in the league show's such restraint!

/sarcasm off

look, I love rondo but that was a selfish, boneheaded move. no excuse for it, and he deserves the game off.

Hey coach

you seem like a smart guy. Explain how no one is talking about what happens to this ref on Saturday.

Focus on 2:05 to 2:15

Is that purposeful contact? Was it a bit harder than  anything Rajon did? Yeah just wondering how this all works in the N B A
