Considering that Rondo probably got half the suspension he deserved - a richly deserved game, to be sure - I have zero interest in taking any position in his behalf.

It was a stupid, selfish incident that hurt his team, his coaches and the people who support him.

Rondo deserves what he got. I'll be doing everything I always do with the C's on TV.

Hey coach

you seem like a smart guy. Explain how no one is talking about what happens to this ref on Saturday.

Is that purposeful contact? Was it a bit harder than  anything Rajon did? Yeah just wondering how this all works in the N B A

Looks to me like he was swinging his arm to get rid of turner.

Little different than starring an official down and chest bumping him, not matter how much i squint through my prescription green tinted glasses  8)

The NBA is basically exerting heavy influence on the outcome of the series, and I don't think that was the intent of the rule.
Yeah, the NBA is pining for that Hawks-Grizzlies finals matchup... It's destined to be an instant hit.

This thread isn't serious is it?  I mean come on, Rondo intentionally physically bumped the ref.  He is lucky he didn't get more than 1 game given the totality of the circumstance (i.e. arguing a call, following the ref, and then bumping him).  The Celtics colored glasses on this site are ridiculous and if the same thing happened with say Josh Smith, this board would be calling for a five game suspension.

The second Rondo made contact with the ref he was going to miss game 2.  That is a fact.  Period.  He handled it well and didn't make it worse, which is why it is only game 2 and not game 2 and 3, which it easily could have been.

I don't know what to make of that. I mean...its clearly a different context from the Rondo incident. But, it kind of looks like Boozer over-exagerrates his 'stumble' to catch the ref.

I imagine the league looked at it though.

I don't think Boozer's intent was to make contact with the ref.  He was tangled up with another player, and the contact was incidental with the official.

Remember this?

KG actually wasn't suspended for that.  He wasn't suspended for this one, either:

I think the league looks at intent, in terms of whether you're intentionally going after the ref, rather than it being incidental to another altercation, etc.

Is there a fan base more full of people with the "poor us, everybody is against us" mentality?

My god, the homerism is out of control here in Boston. I'm embarrassed.

I've read through a Lakers forum where their fans thinks David Stern hates LA more than Celtics fans think he hates Boston.

I think it's funny that both our fan bases think like this when, in fact, it's probably Stern's greatest dream to have a Lakers/Celtics final.

While I did in fact boycott going to games this season after the lockout and gave up my Pats seasons tickets after that one, I see no reason at all to join you in your boycott. I am willing to listen if you have any convincing arguement other than you're a Celtics fan and want Rondo to play.
To repeat what most everyone has said, it's the rule. You don't bump the Ref. If I was Doc I might suspend him for a game anyway for taking the stupid tec in a 4 point game anyway.
Sorry, while I like a good boycott as much as the next guy, this does not call for one.
