  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
If Rondo is gone who starts and what position.
I'm wondering if Doc goes with Pierce at the point forward with Avery at 2 and Pietrus at the 3 spot.

Pierce playing point means he will have to be involved in the game much more which is good for us.
Pierce and Bass were simply pathetic in game 1 and I honestly believe we are still favorites to win this game even with Rondo out.
Having Ray off the bench would be great but he is going to be sore the next day.
We are going to have Sasha and/or Marquis probably playing a few minutes and I think Dooling+Steimsma are both going to feature prominently.

So I think it's probably going to be:

PG: Pierce
SG: Bradley
SF: Pietrus or Sasha?
Bass
KG.

Thoughts?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I guess Dooling would come in and have a chance to prove it was smart not to bring back Delonte

I'd like to see Quisey play too. I feel like he earned it more than Dooling did. Obviously Quisey at the 2 but playing the pseudo-point along with Pierce.

I'd rather see Moore play PG than Dooling.. I don't care if he's a rookie!

I think Dooling gets the start.  AB stays at the 2.  Etwaun gets some minutes at PG.

Dooling can at least play D and he can ball handle.  I wouldn't want AB going against Teague in the open court for 30 minutes.

We need Dooling and Etwaun to hit some threes.

Doesn't matter, the whole team must wake up, and the only way to do that is by taking away Rondo.

Had Bradley played better last night I think Doc might have gone with him and Pietrus, but I agree there's now a possibility that Dooling gets the call.

Kind of a no brainer I thought.

1.Bradley
2.Pietrus
3.Pierce
4.Bass
5.KG

Not as much of a no brainer as youd think. I wouldnt surprised to see Sasha start at the two, or even Dooling seeing as Doc likes to keep his bench guys in their roles, which would mean Petey still coming off the bench as the 6th man... We've seen this a couple times towards the beginning of the season.

All that hard work , for nothing...   it appeared Atlanta didn't play all that great , they were beatable.

SO the Celtics fell apart...I saw BASS in clips doing "NOTHING" but watching the game go by. Was anybody playing but Steamer and Rondo the first half???

KG and PIERCE CHOKED like a pair of new rookies.  Pathetic.

Rondo ...goes mental at a critical time and lets the whole season go down the drain.

The team played so hard to get where they were and then completely self destruct , instead of rising to the occassion.

Maybe they deserve to be swept out of the playoffs.

Shaqattack..game 2 hasn't even been played yet. Abit premature to call the cs season over...its a 7 game series...not a 1 game series

KG was the only reason they had a chance.

Stiemsma and Bass and Avery looked inexpierienced..............Wait.............i wonder why?

Its one game. Pierce shot bad.

ANd Rondo was the only one who actually played consistent from start to finish.

THey lost one game, in ATL, in a game where they played there worst game of the year, and the Hawks played one of their best.

If Muhammad Ali lost the first round in a 7 round fight to a inferior opponent, would you still deny his chances of winning?

as for the starting lineup,

This would be my guess as well, unless Ray feels well enough to play.

Pierce hit a clutch jumper with 2 minutes left to bring the lead down to 4... He was having an off night before that shot.. I wouldnt say he choked like a rookie.

KG picked it up in the 4th quarter.. He finished with 20 and 12 and hit some big shots to bring us close.. I wouldnt say he choked like a rookie.

Rondo let the whole season go down the drain? Really?

Completely self-destruct? did you see that foul call on Bass? It was clearly a jump ball.. Teams who fight hard to comeback after starting poorly are usually the ones doing the destructing...to the other team.  Atlanta almost self-destructed.. imagine if we actually won it.. we had a great shot at winning a game we had no business being in.

You must be a half-empty kinda guy.
