Ouch.

2-0 isn't ideal...but at least we weren't "supposed" to win in Atlanta.  Protect home court and win game 5 or 7

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
All that hard work , for nothing...   it appeared Atlanta didn't play all that great , they were beatable.

SO the Celtics fell apart...I saw BASS in clips doing "NOTHING" but watching the game go by. Was anybody playing but Steamer and Rondo the first half???

KG and PIERCE CHOKED like a pair of new rookies.  Pathetic.

Rondo ...goes mental at a critical time and lets the whole season go down the drain.

The team played so hard to get where they were and then completely self destruct , instead of rising to the occassion.

Maybe they deserve to be swept out of the playoffs.

Pierce hit a clutch jumper with 2 minutes left to bring the lead down to 4... He was having an off night before that shot.. I wouldnt say he choked like a rookie.

KG picked it up in the 4th quarter.. He finished with 20 and 12 and hit some big shots to bring us close.. I wouldnt say he choked like a rookie.

Rondo let the whole season go down the drain? Really?

Completely self-destruct? did you see that foul call on Bass? It was clearly a jump ball.. Teams who fight hard to comeback after starting poorly are usually the ones doing the destructing...to the other team.  Atlanta almost self-destructed.. imagine if we actually won it.. we had a great shot at winning a game we had no business being in.

You must be a half-empty kinda guy.

Pierce was pathetic, Bass was pathetic- they may as well have been Johnson and Hollins out there.
Re the Bass foul & Rondo snapping...In the live action in front of the referees eyes, that is EASILY a foul call at least 50% of the time. As I stated in another thread, if that was Rondo or Pierce on the ground with Ivan Johnson doing what Bass did everyone here would be calling for the refs head.
If Pierce had hit 2 of his 9 three point attempts we probably win that game. It's the captains fault we lost this in my opinion and I think he'd take the blame. He didn't play up to his standards and he'd be the first to take the blame like a true warrior would.
I'm just hoping he had a bad game and his toe isn't much worse than he's letting out because he had no energy or burst at all.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Overall Bass and Pierce had bad games.. But they both hit big shots down the stretch to make it close.. They're not going to have off games like this all series..

I'm surprised no one's going after Bradley's head yet.. He didn't do too hot last night either.

I think Lebron needs to be suspended for the hurting he put on the floor during this flop.

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I would love for Ray Allen to take this opportunity to come back and absolutely dominate.

I think AB needs a bit more "experience" playing in the playoffs before he is starting in the playoffs. He couldn't hit a shot last night. Reminded me of him from back in Dec/Jan/Feb.

I think you put PP back into the point forward position and fill in MP for rondo's spot. Gives us a bit more size and better D to start the game.  Hopefully Ray can play in game 2 and make a difference.  C's played well before with Rondo out and PP taking the point.

We will still win Game 2, when Rondo is out Pierce generally has great games and plays point forward. Less horrific shots for Pierce and more for everyone else = can only be a good thing.

Probably a Bradley/Pietrus backcourt. I really wish Ray could return but my hopes get dimmer every game that passes.

And when are we going to hear back about this? It's the playoffs. These decisions should be handled quickly so the team can prepare. Are they waiting till tip-off tomorrow or will Rondo be yanked off the floor midway through the first half?
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Typically we here about discipline towards the end of the NBA office working day. So around 3-5 eastern time, and we'll certainly hear about it today one way or another.

I wonder if Rondo's previous suspension will factor into the decision from the league office.

It will, they consider a player's history when deciding discipline. Stern said so today in a radio interview.

If you get 2 games for throwing a ball at a ref, I gotta think you get at least that much for bumping one, right?

At this point, I am hoping it's somehow just one game.

The NBA gives longer regular season suspensions than playoff ones typically.

But you never know.
