This is the worst Celtics. This was the Hawks at their best. This is the worst possible case scenario and there's still a very good chance we're going to clinch this. And yes, even without Rondo in game two and possibly Ray for the series.

Look up and ahead guys!

we didnt defend until we were down and had to fight to come back..

I expect the celtics to put up a better effort on tuesday...theres a reason its a 7 game series and not 1

Worst game of the year for the C's

Best game of the century for the Hawks.

In other words, a fluke, the Hawks arent this good, and we arent this bad especially defensively.

There is no way in hell the Hawks are going to play like they did tonight all series long.

AB, PP, KG, Peaches, and the Steamer for game two. We take game two and see what happens after that.

We can win in Atlanta. Home court had very little to do with this loss. Celtics were simply out of sync for nearly the entire game.
I moved the cheese.

I guess you missed the Celtics pre Allstar break. They were not a good team. I don't think Atlanta is a slouch team. It is on the Celtics to play better than they played tonight.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

We also couldn't buy a three point make tonight, just hitting 2 of our five or six wide open ones makes it a different game.

The premise of this thread means nothing.  It happens every year.  Fans team loses game one and blames it on luck.

You know what?  Next game starts 0-0 and atlanta has just as good a chance to win that game like they did this game.

The only thing that matter is that it is 1-0.  How t got here doesn't matter.

This was hardly a spectacular game for the Hawks. They only shot 41% from the field, 2% more than us. They won because they had more energy from the start of the game and outrebounded us.

Yeah but so do the Celts. Pierce is not going 5-of-19 again.

Hawks had a better record than Boston this year.  This is hardly surprising.  That said, Pierce and KG were ice cold early.  Hard to win when Pierce is 5-19.

Say what you want about Rondo, but the guy is our 3rd best player.  When our two best players (KG and Pierce) are struggling, it's tough.

I didn't see the game , but if I hear that Rondo is suspended, then the rest of the series doesn't matter anyway.

No RONDO ...LOST CAUSE

by the same token however, fans tend to over-react and base a whole series on one game. thats why the games are played.

I dont expect the Hawks to get a 17point lead in the first quarter game 2..

Of course the celts can.  But we can't rely on regression to the mean to win the game.

with or without rondo, game 2 is a must win for the celtics...when their backs are against the wall they generally come out and play some of their best basketball.

with or without rondo, I expect the c's to come out with a strong effort right out of the gates...maybe some of the 3's/open shots they missed tonight go in and its a different ballgame.

it has to start with pierce though. he is our best player, and he needs to rebound, dish out assists/hit shots
