I think Rondo was going to get ejected either way. I don't think he meant to make contact, he tripped on his foot and it carried him into the ref. However, I do believe he was going to give Davis a "stern" ass chewing and get thrown out. Pun intended.

He'll get a two-game suspension.

I hate David Stern's NBA.

So we have the two Marc Davis Hawks games this year and this incident in the playoffs a few years back.

Boston newspapers report that refs' families were wearing Bulls gear
Two of the referees in Game 4 of the Bulls-Celtics series reportedly are Chicago residents whose families at the game were wearing Bulls gear.
According to the Boston Herald, a member of the Celtics' traveling contingent was taken aback at the sight of the crew exiting the United Center after the game with family members who were Bulls fans. The Boston Globe, citing an NBA source, reported that the officials were Marc Davis and Dan Crawford.
The third member of the crew, Bill Kennedy, was involved in an incident with Celtics coach Doc Rivers during a Boston-Chicago game March 17 this year in which Rivers was ejected and both were later fined by the league for their actions

Marc Davis is obviously biased against the Celtics.

I am sorry, this comment is just dumb.  Calm down a minute and realize that Rondo lost his head and did something stupid.  He isn't a pathetic excuse for a celtic.  Sheesh...

Just stupid.

Get this kid out of Celtics green. Pathetic excuse for a Celtic.

Worst game of the year for Pierce, KG, Bass, Bradley and our bench and we were still within 4 points?

He tripped on his foot.  I don't think that bump was intentional.

That bump was VERY intentional! A very childish thing to do in such a big game. Think Tony Parker or or Steve Nash would have done something so stupid to put their team in jeopardy for the next few games as well? NOT!

Disagree, his momentum clearly changed after the misstep.

WHY even put yourself in that position... Rondo had INTENT when he approached the ref.  You MUST stay self controlled.  Sadly, this is Rondo's nature.

He pushed out his chest. I don't see how anyone who isn't wearing green glasses interprets the video otherwise.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Terrible call, magnified by another display of Rondo's lack of maturity.

Not going to call for a trade, but unquestionably in the space of a couple of seconds Rondo hurt this team.

Badly.
Despite the lapse of control, Rondo and KG got the team back in the game, it shouldn't have come down to a couple seconds of frustration to determine the outcome of this game.

We weren't playing the Bulls.

Nothing, unless you think neutral observers will have the same bias.

When can referees use replay?
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Worst game of the year for Pierce, KG, Bass, Bradley and our bench and we were still within 4 points?

The rookie Stiemer kept his composure and gave a steady effort with 9 boards in 19 minutes (which was a better rate than Josh Smith's 18 in 43).  It was Bradley and the battle-hardened veterans who didn't come through.
