Kings executives will entertain trade offers for Tyreke Evans this summer, and they should.

But the primary question asked when Evans was drafted fourth overall in 2009 remains unanswered: Where is he most effective?

"I don't think it's any big secret," Princeton legend and longtime Kings consultant Pete Carril said the other night. "Tyreke's got to learn to play without the ball. It's all there. I see some games, and he looks very good. Other games … he just has to work harder. I'd love to see him develop a mid-range game."

We have tons of CAP room to absorb salary and a couple first round picks and a need at SG with Ray aging.  Would you be interested in pursuing him or is he too much of a question mark?  If not, what team could he make a good fit on?

I'd be very interested in him. He's a superb talent who is stuck with a crappy organization and several bad coaches.

I don't see a realistic trade to get him, I imagine the Kings asking price would be Rondo.

I would take him.

I don't see a good straight up trade.  I think a third team in a sign and trade using Ray Allen may have to be looked at.

Would the Celtics play him at SF with Rondo and Bradley as the two guards going towards the future?

If Pierce is still on the team I'd have Bradley be the backup SG/PG and 6th man. If not, probably have him at SF unless there is another quality option.

At first, yes.

I am look at the eventuality of this type of move.

Or looking to see if Pierce could be moved next year for a good young big man.

I don't know if Evans will be better off at SF closer to the rim or not. Supposedly he was a good shooter coming to Memphis and just stopped shooting to penetrate in college.

He has more potential as a strong SG and that's where I'd try to develop him. Bradley works with either Rondo or Evans, its just a matter of whether or not Evans could work well with Rondo.

I don't think Sacramento is going to give him away, and I think the deal that makes the most sense (on a relative scale...I am not saying it actually makes sense) would be Rondo for Evans and Sacramento's pick.

Sacramento is one of the few teams who are still really looking for a PG, and have been interested in Rondo in the past.  And Danny love Evans coming out of college, and also loves this draft.

Now, if Danny did this, it would probably mean it is because Rondo is a bigger problem in the lockerroom than they let on.  But, on pure value, a mid to high lottery pick and a guy a couple years off being rookie of the year, is not a bad haul for Rondo.

This is (just me) a wise move for Sacramento.

While really talented, he just for some reason doesn't fit there.
If they can get a defending SF for him that can shoot threes, with their solid young starting 4 (Thomas, Thornton, Thompson and Cousins) a wing defender would help this team elevate to okay status in 2 years, playoff team in maybe 4.

IF we gonna get him, who we gonna have to give up? Dude can attack the rim. I like him running along with Rondo as well.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I agree.  I think this is a case (much like Turner in Philly), where a very talented player is looking much worse than his talent, because the talent around him is such a bad fit.

Tyreke is a volume scorer.  Those guys can be very valuable in the NBA...but you can't have too many of them.  Considering their other best perimeter player is also a volume scorer (Thornton), and their best overall player (Cousins) also needs the ball, they need some more balance, and guys who can distribute, and play off the ball.

If Ainge comes calling, I think the Kings should probably start out by demanding Avery Bradley and the Celtics' two first-round picks this year.  Actually, they should probably start out by asking for more.  Not saying Ainge should make that trade, but Sacramento should aim high with their expected return and see if someone bites.

They'd ask for Rondo first over Bradley I think, they need a passer in the worst way.

I'd trade Bradley + picks for Evans, I don't know what sort of pick structure I'd do though.

That's exactly the deal I thought of prior to reading your post. What makes it interesting is that Evans could handle the ball on offense, which he so effectively as a rookie, and Bradley could play off of him. Defensively we could cross matchup. Bradley would cover the 1's and pester them with his ball pressure, while Evans has the size to matchup against any 2 guard.

Sacramento has the 4th worst record, and assuming there are no surprises in the lottery, we would be getting Drummond, Kidd-Gilchrist, or Robinson with their pick.

agree with Chris (as usual) - Rondo for Evans and a pick is a good value if the C's management has decided to move on

however, if we believe some of the comments/rumors, the C's will likely only deal Rondo for a clear upgrade (CP3 for example) - so likely not a fit

and yes, I'd definitely consider swapping Bradley but at the same time, I'm kind of growing fond of having such a defensive minded backcourt

Well if it makes you feel better Evans isn't a bad defender by any means. He's just stuck on a team of awful and more awful defensive players.

I doubt Bradley's stock is high enough to make the Kings entertain such a trade.
