Hi!
Bored. Just putting this out there, see what people think. Pretty excited about bradley's recent surge. Playing pretty well. doubted him a lot at first esp as a 2 because he's small -  but now he reminds me of joe dumars! - undersized 2 guard but great defender, tough, good shooter. Rondo's more of a passer, isiah was more of a scorer but that backcourt worked great. could rr and ab be similar?

other thought - steisma =laimbeer? hard fouls, deep shooter. hahaha!
the boston bad boys?  ;D

KG is Rodman? Hahahahah!
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

KG is Rodman minus the hair and exibitionism, but they have the same intensity.

I detest Isiah the person but if Rondo was Thomas we would be lifting a trophy this year.

That guy was ballsy, he set the plate for the team for 3 quarters, getting everyone else involved and then would take control as a scorer.

He led the league in assists one year if I remember right and averaged almost 10 a game for his career while only taking 16 shots a game for career.

Miserable Failure in everything else but hell of a pg. If Rondo could ever start knocking down dagger 18 ft's and getting to the line (and converting) in the last 6 minutes of big close games. He would be pretty close. Just not there yet.

...And I really like Avery but it is still early, fair comparison to Joe if he keeps up this kind of development/improvement for 3 more years.

to compare them both at this stage of their carrers is of course out of proportion
but hey...
we are cs
so in perspective we have a very nice combo out there
p.s. its not better than 2008 rondo ray
because of ray

as small as Dumars was... Bradley is smaller.

Rondo is nowhere near as good as Isiah Thomas.  The closest you'll find to Isiah in this league is Chris Paul.

Rondo is more like Jason Kidd in his prime.  Elite passer.  Great point guard.  Godawful shooter.  Kidd was actually a bit better shooter than Rondo is, though (career 35% from three)... and Kidd was always capable of making his free throws (career 78%).  So ROndo is kinda like a poor man's Jason Kidd... which is pretty darn good considering Jason Kidd lead a mediocre Nets team to the Finals in back-to-back years when the Leastern Conference was a total joke.

Bradley is a great unknown right now.  You really can't read too much into his early success.  For the same reason I cautioned folks about getting too excited about Brandon Jennings early streak and for the same reason I cautioned folks about getting too excited about Linsanity... teams don't have Bradley on their radar yet and lack of practice in this lockout-shortened season means they aren't doing much gameplanning for him.  Seems players have a tendency to have 11 great games in a row, before the league catches up to them.  That said, every game I get more and more surprised by him.  Until tonight, I didn't realize he was so good shooting off the dribble and creating his own shot.  Most of his offense had been coming off open corner threes and sneaking under the basket.  It was a bit surprising to see him getting away with the same stuff without the big 4 taking all the attention.  Atlanta did a good job limiting him in the 4th quarter, though...   Not sure what to compare him to yet.  I know people are name-dropping Russell Westbrook and Monta ELlis, but that's a tendency of sports fans... to just pick out the best possible player of that position/size and say "that's his ceiling".  Jennings was Iverson.  Lin was Nash.  When Flip Murray went on his 11 game tear in Seattle, it was too easy to compare him to Ray.  When Gerald Green dropped 20 a few games late in the season, we were all quick to name drop T-Mac.  Who knows with Bradley.  He might be the next coming of Nate Robinson for all we know (another undersized shooting guard from Seattle).  Right now it's just nice to watch a young player develop... we haven't had that since Rondo.  And we keep hearing about how Bradley was a top prospect coming out of high school so our irrational expectations actually have some basis in reality (unlike Lin... who came out of nowhere and seemed destined to have an inevitable major drop-off).

When Bradley was drafted I compared his ceiling to being a "Joe Dumars type". If this was something that people started to say... I'd feel pretty good. And i'd be real happy with having Avery Bradley on my Celtics.

Actually they did, Adrian Dantley was part of that group but had moved on before DET won it all.

I say he's the next Bird.

Bird Averitt, that is.  Another mini shooting guard.

I doubt Bradley ends up having a career quite as good as Ron Boone, but if we're lucky he could have a John Roche type of career.  I say his ceiling is somewhere in between the two.

If we're talkin modern players... we'll be lucky if he ends up as good as Jason Terry.  About the same size... both from Seattle.  Seems fair.

How bout that... Rondo is a poor man's Jason Kidd in his prime and Bradley has Jason Terry's ceiling.  Both those guys just so happen to play for the Mavs.  Good comparison.

If Bradley continues this kind of development/improvement for 3 more years, he'll be an all-galaxy player.

Can't tell if snarky...actually definitely tongue-in-cheek at least... He's growing at an exponential rate. You can't expect him to sustain. Can't tell if you're hating on him or praising him though haha.

But what's scary is neither of them are on their prime.

Rondo's game only gets better with experience as its becoming less and less dependent on his athleticism and speed.

Bradley is 21. Bradley is 21. Bradley is 21.

Rondo is completely in the same league as isaiah thomas and has a chance to be better than kidd. Nate Robinson is 5'8", Avery is 6'3". Bad comparison.
