The rebuild, who stays who goes?

I don't think Danny is going to wait on youth to develop is more likely to cash in assets to win now like he did with KG/Ray

Now the big question is who stays and who goes

Rondo, Bradley, JJJ, 2 first round picks, E'Twan Moore, Steamer, Green

I personally feel that only Jeff Green, Rondo, and Steamer are the ones who stay and 1 first round pick, be it an acquired one or one of our current ones

hard to say right now and i dont think even ainge or doc know for sure.

but i suspect that both 3j and etwuan have a shot at staying. 3j since he has obvious physical talent, but needs to bulk up and learn to play defense a lot better.

etwuan i would also pick since so far he has shown some ability to shoot and play defense. his ball handling has been ok too. he needs time and practice to improve.

both are worth looking at for another year or two i think.

Well look at Avery Bradley, took him a while to finally feel comfortable. I expect JJJ to become a good roleplayer.

personally i would like to keep: rondo, AB, and get jeff green back obviously pierce if he doesnt retire. everyone else is expendable

It really depends when you think the rebuild will start.  I think almost definitely Danny will try to bring Ray and KG back on 1 year deals.  Since Pierce is around for two more, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for Danny to offer them two years and make 2014 the big rebuild year.  That gives all the young players coming in two years to learn selflessness and defense from the very best.  And that's not BS when you consider guys like Tony Allen, Kendrick Perkins, and Avery Bradley.  

Two years from now, they'd have Rondo under contract, a qualifying offer for Bradley, and then JJJ and presumably the first rounders from this year and next year.  

I also like keeping KG and Ray for two years because it then allows us to then offer Green and Bass two year deals without worrying about hurting cap space.  This allows us to keep their value.  We can then look to trade them in 2013-2014 or if they really progress, re-sign them when the Big Three Era is over.

The only ones that I think that would be considered "very likely" pieces of a rebuild that could contribute on a championship team a few years down the road are:

Rondo, Bradley, Bass, and Steimsma.

None of the others have shown over a consistent amount of time that they could make the top 12 of a championship caliber team. Rondo of course is the only one consistently playing at a championship level player over his career to date, but Bradley at least shows he would be worth a bench role on that level squad, Bass as well, and Steimsma has at least the ability to be a 3rd stringer on that squad and hopefully if he continues to develop at least a 2nd stringer. Starter would be nice! Jeff Green would be on that squad as well, but I am not sold that he will for sure return to the C's. Hope so, but not convinced.

JJJ may one day show that, Moore as well, but outside the big 3 and these guys we have no keepers.

As others have said it really depends when the rebuild happens and under what conditions it does happen. I think right now our long term core is only Bradley and Rondo. If Pierce retires (which I hope he doesn't) after this year I wouldn't be shocked to see Jeff Green added to that core.

As of now I don't expect a rebuild until 2013-2014 season. In this scenario Pierce and KG come back next year (maybe Ray too), Bradley and Rondo continue to get better and we sign vets this offseason to make one last run with this group. Then the next year we move along with Bradley Rondo, and whoever develops out of the Moore JJJ and two first rounders group. The rest of the roster will be filled out by some decent players since we have a ton of cap space after that year.

I see them working hard to bring KG back.  Ray I think they're more likely to let go for more money and maybe a chance to start elsewhere.

What are the chances Ray is looking for more than MLE?   

If he is valued better than MLE, C's are in position to S&T him to Dallas, SA, LA (Clips or Lakers), Chicago, or Miami.     Not sure what we could get in return, but opens some options.

KG, Paul, Jeff Green and Ray are my really want to stays.

Bass and Pietrus are my want to stays.

Everyone else can go, although there isn't anyone I don't like.

Dooling needs to pack his bags. Quis and Moore too.  MAybe Sasha too.....Hollin is expendable.

Keep Pietrus and Bass and AB....bring back Ray,  Green and Wilcox cheap.  Draft a GOOD CENTER ...keep steamer and JJJ as projects ??

I'd love to see what a line up of Rondo, Bradley, Green, Bass & a 5-man who can run the floor could do. That's a lot of athleticism right there.
