I think Rondo would easily take a spot over williams. Theres a good chance he could be on the third team unless they look at true Pg's vs true Sg's

I think Kobe will be on the first team, and I really don't know who will be on there with him between Paul and Wade. My guess is Paul. Wade on the Second Team with Westbrook or Parker. The other on the Third Team. Between Nash, Rondo, Harden, and Rose, it comes down to the last couple of weeks. I think Manu missed too many games. I don't think Williams will make it given his team's performance.

Go Celtics.

This is how voting went for guards last year:

•First team
G — Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers (98) 551
G — Derrick Rose, Chicago (118) 593
•Second team
G — Dwyane Wade, Miami (24) 392
G — Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City 184
•Third team
G — Manu Ginobili, San Antonio 106
G — Chris Paul, New Orleans 157
Then Rondo was first in “others receiving votes” with 68, but the gap between him and Ginobili was large.

Derrick Rose might be left off (or at least drop) due to limited games played.
Ginobili’s definitely out due to the limited games he’s played.
Like others have said Tony Parker is probably in.
And Deron Williams and Steve Nash (both 2nd team in 2010) are in the running too.

So it probably goes something like this:

I think these 3 are given:
Kobe and Chris Paul are 1st team, with Kobe being Kobe and Chris Paul’s great performance and huge visibility increase in LA.
Wade is 2nd team.  Wade stays at 2nd team, having missed a few games and his numbers (points and rebounds) slightly down.

After those 3, it’s up for grabs.
Rose’s numbers are pretty consistent from last year, but who knows how many more games he misses.  Even though he came back the other day, I could see him missing a few more games to better recover for the playoffs.  He might miss out due just to the missed games, but with Chicago possibly finishing with best record in the league, he could still get voted in at 2nd team or 3rd team.

Westbrook’s points are up, but assists are down, but still pretty much the same player that got 2nd team last year.   And with OKC fighting for the best record in the league, he’s definitely in, probably in at 2nd team again (but maybe down to 3rd if Rose still gets votes).

Tony Parker has the highest assists of his career and 2nd highest points, while possibly leading the Spurs to the best record in the league.  So he’s probably in at 3rd team.

Rondo will probably be on the outside looking in again.  If he finishes off strong, leads the league in assists (and the C’s keep winning) I could see him making 3rd team, but only if Rose is left out due to injury,

Deron Williams, your numbers are nice, just like when you were on the 2nd team, but your team sucks, and you didn’t win any fans forcing Sloan out in Utah and possibly leaving NJ this season.  Play on a winning team next year and you'll be back in, but for now you’re out.

Steve Nash, you might lead the league in assists (again) with great shooting numbers (again), but if you didn’t make it last year, with your team hovering around .500 again, and your scoring on the decline, you ain’t making it this year.

James Harden, your team is nice but will already have Durant and Westbrook representing you guys on the All-NBA teams.  Under 17ppg off the bench ain't gonna cut it.  Don't worry, Sixth Man of the Year is a pretty nice consolation prize.

Kobe does not belong on the 1st team.  Chucking at an absurd rate on a career low in efficiency, ball-hogging, and posting one of his worst a:to ratios;.  Factor that in with his inconsistent defense and he has no business being on there.  Still a good player, but he's taking too much off the table to get an honor like that.

I'd probably select CP3 and Wade for the 1st team guards.  Let Westbrook and Kobe ball-hog for the 2nd team.
2016 CelticsBlog Draft: Chicago Bulls

Head Coach: Fred Hoiberg

Starters: Rubio, Danny Green, Durant, Markieff Morris, Capela
Bench: Sessions, Shumpert, G. Green, T. Booker, Frye
Deep Bench: CJ Watson, H. Thompson, P. Zipser, Papagiannis, Mejri

Agree with you, but he'll make first team with ease. I'll be surprised if he's not the top vote getter among guards.
Go Celtics.

Has a player ever lead the league in triple doubles and assists and not made an all nba team?

Thinking that Kobe doesnt belong on the All nba first team is absurd.

Eh not really, especially if you think (like I do) that PG/SG are different enough to warrant "separate" slots.

Wade has been a better shooting guard for quite some time and has been this year in my opinion when on the court.

Kobe is posting a 28/5/5 - hes going to be all nba.  To think otherwise is  ???.

Rondo is deserving of all nba, but he won't make it - especially if Rose does.  I don't think Williams (22/9/3) deserves it, but I'd put my money on him making it over rondo (12/11/5).

He posted four straight 40+ point games, hit a couple of shots down the stretch here and there, and he's definitely going to be All-NBA.
I wouldn't say he's inefficient. Don't wake him up. People said Wilt was all about scoring and he came up with 8 apg next season. Let him be lulled in his own world :)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I see Westbrook ahead of Rose this year. Way ahead. Not sure if he's ahead of Paul too- that's a tough one.

He's the reason that OKC get out of the West this year.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No one in the NBA has run his team better then Rondo has and I'd love to see that recognized with him being named All-NBA but he wont be IMO.  He's borderline but I think he'll be left out.  To the people that vote, scoring weighs the heaviest while being a great floor general is a bit of an afterthought.

to a tee
I actually don't see rose making it this year.

paul
parker
westbrook (who isn't a pg but plays the position)

Not sure parker will get in but he & rondo deserve it

Kobe, Wade, CP3, Tony Parker would be my guess.

Deron's been on a losing team and hasn't been significantly better than the other top PGs so I don't think he gets the nod. Manu and Rose have been injured too much.

Westbrook and Rondo get pushed out. Parker gets the nod because it seems like people recognize that he's been the anchor for that team this year (although I wouldn't be surprised if Westbrook got it). Chris Paul has flat out had the best season as a PG.

Rondo will likely get recognized on the All-defensive team again. If he keeps up this assist streak it might create some buzz for him though, but I doubt he'll get All NBA.

I don't think the non-Kobe/Wade SGs are as good as the current PG crop.
There are 3 all-nba squads, so two more guards.
Word. I think Rondo makes 3rd team.
