Does Bradley have a shot at defensive second team?

No chance, but he's opened enough eyes that he'll get some consideration throughout next season if he keeps playing at this level.

I dont see a ceiling for Bradley's defensive impact.

He can pressure the ball with quickness but also has the athletic ability and wingspan to bother bigger players who try to post him.

He is like Tony Allen only if Tony could pressure the ball full court.

His defensive energy has been a huge factor in turning this season around.

I do want to see a bigger sampling of him against bigger guys but he could be a 1st teamer after Kobe declines defensively.

Great point...your not going to get much credit as a great defensive player on a mediocre defensive team.

I would love to start another thread talking about defensive impact of interior players (KG, Dwight etc) as opposed to backcourt defenders.

Bradley has a chance (in the future) to have a similar impact on a defense that KG does.

What makes KG special is his ability to eliminate the effectiveness of guard penetration with his help defense.

Well, Bradley is going to be the best in the NBA (probably already is), at eliminating penetration before it even happens. The toughest thing to do in the league is keep a world class NBA ball handler in front of you and Bradley can do that. He is even awesome at getting through screens since he is already hounding the ball handler and ruining timing/angles well before the guard has the chance to drive towards a screen.

It is so disruptive to offenses and it is a blast to watch.

Edit: Admittedly, no one can every have AS much impact as KG who can take out an entire quarter of a basketball court with his skills (even at this age)...that being said, AB can still be a defensive anchor when he hits his peak in my opinion.

AB just hasn't played enough minutes to be considered IMO. Next year if he's healthy there's a good chance, KG or not. Interior d doesn't have much to do with being a great on the ball defender baseline to baseline.

Agreed. The only thing holding him back is that he hasn't played enough to show consistency. However, we'll be in some high profile games down the stretch. If he locks down some premier players on national games he might get a nod.

If he had been playing as of late all season, I think absolutely yes, but he hasn't. I think he still might have a shot at it. He defense is well reknown by the players now. Thoughts?

nah , maybe if he started all year,but i think the order goes

PG 1ST Team- Rondo
PG 2ND Team- cp3
pg 3rd team - westbrook

1st team- wade
2nd team- kobe
3rd team- tony allen

Westbrook? Westbrook is at best the third best defensive guard on his team (behind Sefolosha and Harden) and probably not even that - he is not at all dedicated on that end. He wouldn't be considered even if there was a third team.

I think TA makes 1st team. His reputation has gotten to where it deserves to be. Hell, TA is going to be one of two perimeter defenders (with Lebron) to get Defensive Player of the Year votes. Took him a while to get there, but he's there now, and will make All-Defensive teams as long as he stays near his current level. I think TA and Wade get 1st Team, Kobe and Paul or Rondo 2nd Team. Bradley's at least a year from starting to make these teams.
