Doc blames the players but plays Ryan Hollins 13 minutes. I guess he's blaming Steamer for all these problems.

"Greg, go sit down there with the rest of the rookies. Yes, son you. I don't care that you've been playing well, you are a rookie. Just watch, Hollins is going to play more minutes than you tonight and vs Indiana, I'm going to play small ball again".

Didn't Steamer get 3 fouls in his first 4 minutes or so?

It's the NBA. You get 6 fouls. Use them all.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

the team was tired and you can tell, but Doc is right. I was so frustrated watching the game and watching Deng will us yesterday

what killed me even more was the last play where Rondo turned the ball over cuz he thought Ray was going to shoot that 3...

hopefully we come out on Sunday against the 76ers with a goal of killing the 76ers

When you have a guy like Stiemsma on the bench, you don't sit him down over things like foul trouble or poor play. Just his presence on the court is enough to change the momentum of the game.

Seriously though, I'm glad Doc is ripping into the team. I hope they get fired up. I'm not that upset. I don't expect us to outhustle the Bulls because they're younger, more athletic, and have better stamina. Our issues were offensive execution in the 2nd half and rebounding. KG had an off night and we started forcing shots when the Bulls locked in on D.

I was glad to see Hollins get some extended minutes.  I feel like he's going to need to get up to speed by playoff team.  I'm pretty concerned about heading into the post season with only 3 rotation bigs.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

This is the part that really hurt yesterday.  Deng just ate PP alive when he had the ball.  It seems like that is the worst matchup we have against the bulls.  It wasn't like PP was playing badly, but just lacks the hops/quickness to hold Deng.  It was the same in the last game against the bulls as well.

There needs to be some adjustment to the rotations to help PP more if he is going to be required to cover Deng.  I kept getting mad at PP, but then I just realized that he is outmatched on D against Deng.  Just too big, quick, athletic and a good shooter for PP to play man to man without lots of help.

It did seem to me that they 'let go of the rope' with about 2 minutes left.  They were still in the game with a RA 3 that cut it to 5.  Then we had another chance to get down to 4 and we had a bad turnover.  Seems like we were mentally out of it at the end of the game.  The team needs to be mentally stronger than that to finish out the effort in crunch time.  I think that is what doc is so mad about.  I agree with him...

Indeed, giving the bulls so many cheap free throws can change the game.

I don't mind Doc sitting either Steimsma or Hollins when they mess up. Hollins was pretty clueless out there, but Stiemsma played dumb basketball too.

In a 7 game series, this team can compete and win against any team in the league.

Compete yes.  Win No.  Not with the many inconsistencies (players & coaches) they have shown this year, could I feel confident in making such a claim.

Do I want that statement to be true of course I do.  But with what this team has shown me thus far...don't see it.

Hope they prove you right and me wrong.

Pierce owned the first half and Deng the second. At this stage in their in there respective careers they are pretty even players.

We can't beat the Bulls if we allow them to out-Celtic us.

Thibs helped install that in Boston and he has done that in Chicago.

We are literally looking in the mirror at this team. They are younger and more athletic. Presently they are just as talented and maybe even more so. They are deeper as well. But we can't allow them to be hungrier.
