lol at Dwight.

Otis is the incompetent one in the organization, not Stan

The players are running the asylum now in Orlando.  If this ends up happening in two years, depending on the coach they get, Orlando will be in the lottery, Dwight will be looking to get traded, and whatever team Stan goes to will be in the playoffs and a contender.

Don't know SVG personally so can't comment.  But, his basketball plan is plain stupid , pure and simple. After 8 years it just is not going to win them a chamionship.

If he won't change the chuck 3 point game plain, then chuck his tail right off the bench.

How much of that has to do with the players he's been given?  When your starting PG is Jameer Nelson and the best player on your team besides Dwight is Hedo, I'm not sure any other game plan would have been nearly as effective for the Magic.

Wasn't there a rumor that the Magic offered Howard decision-making power over SVG and Smith's jobs if he stayed?  It wouldn't surprise me if that was a condition of him taking the option year.

So fire his coach and then leave his team? Great role model for the franchise Howard.

I'm always against the whole player-run league. I'm always pro Manager-Run. Almost the same argument of blue collar vs white collar.

I had this argument with my roommates so many times since he's a Miami fan. He blames the Celts for being the first to assemble a big 3 in KG and Ray and Pierce, so everyone followed suit. My argument was, the difference between the Boston Big 3 vs the Miami Big 3 is, our GM put together our big 3 by trades and risk strategies (which good GM should do), whereas Lebron, Wade and Bosh got together and went "let's play together". Big difference

Why shouldn't players be free to decide where they want to play, and under what conditions? I've got no beef with the Miami Heat in the way tehy got together, I just think LeBron, Wade, and Bosh come off as pretentious self-involved tools.

The whole 'he couldn't do it on his own' is complete bunk. There hasn't been a guy who has 'done it on his own' like..ever. Larry Bird? Magic Johnson? Zeke? Kobe? Shaq? Dirk?

Supporting casts populated with HOF'ers. Nobody does it on their own. What's the difference between Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson? In strictly basketball terms, a foot of height and Pau Gasol.

SVG is not the problem.

The inside/outside gameplan don't work cause Howard ain't Hakeem.

It worked just fine when they had talent around Howard to run that offensive system. But Hedo/Rashard's decline meant that it didn't keep working the same way going forward.

the magic have had the best center in the league for how long now ? and SVG has yet to utilize him to his fullest potential. couldn't agree with DH anymore here. gotta be frustrating

With WHAT supporting cast?!
... you missed the point of what i was saying completely. everyone knows their team sucks but their system is based around 3 pointers. they need better plays for dwight is what i am saying, SVG's style doesnt comply with that not the "supporting cast"

I'm not sure that's necessarily his philosophy, as it's not really a look he showed with the Heat. But him working with what he's got.

I don't think it's neccessarily a bad plan, either. But that cast has been exceptionally poor.

they need a better PG in my opinion. never been big jameer and im still baffled on why they would trade for hedo after getting rid of him... if dwight had a legit PG and a better PF to go to war with they would be dominate.

too bad dwight stayed. if he came to boston we really would be a dominant team. him and kg down low is just not fair and rondo would cream himself with the amount of assists he would get.

Dwight can take a hike. He would be doing SVG a favor.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

Yeah, this is a pet peeve of mine too.  Owners and management have known the league is a business for as long as it's existed.  Fans, almost as long.  But now that we have a generation of players who are well aware it's a business, and act accordingly, it's suddenly a travesty

I don't get the notion that players are supposed to ignore their own self-interest in deciding how they want to spend a pretty short career.  LeBron, Wade, and Bosh did exactly what the system - that the owners and players mutually agreed on - allowed them to.  Nothing wrong with that.  Doesn't mean I can't still root against them though.

still say the team is put together wrong.  the three point offense will never work in a playoff series based on shooting threes is silly. , a total waste of DH IMO.

Whoever thought up that offense scheme needs to go ... IF SVG is being forced into that rotten bucket of players and offense then fire Otis Smith .

I love rumors like these....

so after reading that quote we now know that after the season is over, SVG could be fired.....or he could stay.

Way to cover your bases.

But you can still look down on them for it and use the comparison of if Michael, Magic, or Larry could join up with some of the best stars would they?  I don't believe they would because I believed they all wanted to beat eachother.

Also how do we know there wasn't tampering invovled before they signed and that they tanked just so it would be easier for them to have an excuse to sign there.

I like to think that that's not the case, especially with LeBron, and that we just broke his will during that semi-final series, but we'll never know.
