Bass did a great job tonight. He got to the ft line 10 times and was 100%. It gives the C's easy points, quick rests, and gets the other team in foul trouble. Also, 10 rebounds (3 offensive)are big time too.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I'm really interested in what our SG rotation will be when everyone is healthy. Avery, Ray and Pietrus all can make arguments for the starting lineup, and Dooling can certainly make a claim for 10-15 minutes a game with his smart offensive play and fairly ferocious defense of late - he was great tonight. Pietrus can grab 10 playoff minutes a game backing up Pierce at the 3, either Avery or Dooling can take 8 playoff minutes a game from Rondo at the 1. Let's say Dooling takes those. That means you have 48 minutes to split between Ray and Avery, and you'd probably want to give Pietrus another 5-10 minutes there as well.

Absolutely our most interesting position moving forward, and it's a [dang] good problem to have. I'd love to see what a Rondo-Bradley-Pietrus-KG-Steamer/Bass lineup can do defensively.

I'm starting to wonder if Ray's ankle will hold up for the playoffs.

LOL This game couldn't have gone any better. This is such a dream right now. It will at the least force those commentators to take the Celtics a bit more seriously and stop all this "they're too old now" bs. And with this beatdown of the heat, we are pretty much guaranteed that Miami will come out to beat Philly with a vengeance.

Today was a great game.  The only worry it makes for me is wondering how you bring ray back into the fold and still keep the momentum and chemistry that this starting 5 has started to develop?

We shouldn't overlook RA's contributions through the years, but all season to me he has seemed a step slow on D.  When people started posting that when Ray comes back he should come off the bench I thought it was crazy,  but now I am not so sure.

AB's learning curve has been just about exponential lately.  I just love his hustle and determination on both ends of the court.  I think Avery has that extra gear that Ray nor anyone else on our team has.  Today I saw about 3 times where he closed on his man on D from at least 30 feet away when I though they were going to be free for a layup or easy shot.  Ray just can't do that.

Doc has a tough decision on his plate about how to handle this, and still keep the momentum the team has built this last couple of weeks.  Good problem to have I guess huh?

Right. Sloppy with the edits. Sorry 'bout that.  And shoudlnt be so fiesty about MIA, except one gets tired of hearing how great...

No worries, bro. And yeah, it does get tiring, even though it's (at least on paper) true...

I think the team was just getting too old, stale, and slow. These injuries forcing us to change things up have really helped. We have a nice mix of youth and experience now where before we were an aging team of "need to retires". Well see what happens in playoffs..

The Heat are the most talented team in the league.
Talented in what sense? ball handling? play-making? Long range shooting?  What they've got is 2 all-star wings with off and on 3-balls who thrive in transition and get more than their share of buddy calls. Beyond that, they have a string bean who can shoot, most of the time, Battier, and some semi-complementary filler.

James and Wade by almost anyone's assessment are both top 5 talents in the league. Let's start there -- the only team in the league with 2 top 5 players.  Add to that an 18/8 forward in Bosh, 3-point threats off the bench in Jones, Battier and Miller.  Defensively excellent. A decent PG in Chalmers and Haslem is a solid rebounder.  Yes, I can't think of a more talented team.  Doesn't mean they are the best; but they are talented.
In terms of how good Lebron is. I say he's not 1. Not 2. Not 3. Not 4. Not 5. Not 6. Not 7.
