^^^ do you watch basketball???  ::)  Davis is an elite talent no doubt.

Watching the Kentucky Louisville game now...and I am absolutely salivating over Davis.  The guy is a monster.
yes I watch basketball dont disrespect me like dat nd I'm dyin laughin at how many guys CB has overrated in this "deep" draft there's NO franchise changing players in this draft a few all-stars but mainly a role player draft IMO. Davis is overrated when I hear "most polished collegiant big man since Tim Duncan" and hear him gettin treated like a once in a generation talent nd see him play I'm dissapointed everytime

Let's review the facts.  Davis already has a soft touch and a mid range jump shot.  Most guys north of 6'10'' take YEARS to develop those skills in the pros.  He has a 7'4'' wingspan and is an elite shot blocker.  He has soft hands, can run the floor, and his frame with broad shoulders and length means he can easily carry another 30-40 pounds which will allow him to bang with NBA big men.  He is extremely athletic. How is it possible that he will NOT become an elite NBA big man?

Besides Howard and Bynam - how many other offensive minded centers are there in the league?  Maybe...MAYBE you could include Cousins but he is a major head case.

You can count these guys on one hand. That alone makes Davis a franchise NBA player.
I stand by wat I say Anthony Davis will not be a superstar iont think anyone in this draft is gonna be a superstar nd yall can quote me on dat take it down idc i've paid close attention to this college season nd almost all of these guys are overrated

I honestly don't think Anthony Davis looks that impressive when I've seen him play, but I am the first to admit that I have only seen 2 (maybe 3?) of his games. And one of them he was in foul trouble. His numbers are good, but not great. I honestly don't know what he's going to be like in the NBA ...

I think Davis has a very, very high ceiling. Just watching him develop his offense this season has been special. He used to be a point guard/3 pt shooter in high school until his growth spurt, which you can see in his ball handling and shooting. I honestly thought that he would only be a defensive presence in his freshman year (especially because Kentucky has a lot of weapons), but he surpassed most people's expectations.

According to Chad Ford GM's compare him to Tim Duncan and Olajuwan.

Really?  Wow, I think that might be overdoing it a bit.  He's very young, though, so who knows?

Chad Ford points out that Duncan and Olajuwan were flawed at 19 too :) But obviously he has a long way to go.

Hakeem as Sophomore: 28 mpg, 13.9 PPG, 11.4 RPG, 175 blk. Davis as Freshman: 32 mpg, 14.4 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 175 blk.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

So are these ridiculous numbers for starting centers on top D-1 teams? Cause otherwise aren't the stats pretty pointless?

Olajuwan went to two NCAA Championship finals, and Duncan won two ACC Division titles, but had no luck in the NCAA tournament.

Hard to see how we could get this guy, with all of the hype, and the fact that he seems to be the consensus #1 pick.  But I do keep wondering if DA will make a play to trade-up....the idea being to get someone who could be a future star.
