When are some fans going to learn to not dismiss this team?

Its been happening since they were put together. In 2007-08 it was they didn't have a good enough bench and their PG couldn't get the job done.

In 2009-10 it was they were too old and beat up and would never make it past the first round.

This year it was they would never be better than a 7th or 8th seed, never catch this powerhouse Philly team because Philly was so young, talented and athletic, and would ultimately be going nowhere.

This team has the heart and character of a champion and can be counted out of winning absolutely nothing. They will be the team no one wants to face in the East because they are a fierce, tough old dog that doesn't want to die.

If you're a Celtic fans and are arbitrarily dismissing this team's chances of doing ANYTHING, you are doing a disservice to yourself.

man early on in the season it was ugly on this site nd everyone  on the team caught it I'm just glad KG nd Pierce increased their scoring nd rebounding after hella heads said they were washed up nd should retire after this year.

It sure is fun to watch this team play hard and with passion. That is what I am taking away from this year. They keep waiting for our next losing streak to harp on the too old to compete excuse. But the Celtics are having none of it.

I'm definitely enjoying the ride, and an injury or two for the powerhouse teams and we have a sniff, but if Miami and Chicago are fit and firing there is very little chance of us making much noise.

But it is extremely premature and unsupported to proclaim this team a championship contender.

We are still old, still injury-prone and still wildly vulnerable to being reduced to 4 on 5 in the offensive halfcourt with Rondo.

Good run, but this team isn't going to win a title.

I just think that with how the team looked early on is why folks were so quick to dismiss the team. It wasn't hard to do so back then.

But what some folks didn't do was be patient, and let the old legs warm up. The ol' caddy is running smooth as butta, now .

It was frustrating, even for me, to watch us a couple of months ago. But I didn't give up, like many of us didn't, either.

Now? This team can go places, KG and Pierce are playing well, Ray is getting some needed time to rest, AB is playing LIGHTS OUT and getting better, Stiem is playing well, Pietrus will be back, Rondo has settled in, Bass has been HUGE, etc.

And Danny didn't have to mortgage our future away by trading anyone back on March 15. We'll still be a player in free agency, with money to spend. We still have our picks in June. Big Hats off to him. We all know he tried to make moves, but he wouldn't let these GMs lowball him.

Most importantly? The Vaunted Celtics Defense is Back, apparently.

I think the clincher for us to see if where we REALLY stand is on Sunday. High Noon showdown. MIA comes to town. This is perhaps our most important game thus far. I believe the Green won't disappoint.

How bout 'Without Rondo this team has zero chance at getting out of the first round of the playoffs'.

Gimme a break. Rondo contributes 37 points of production a night with his passing and scoring, not to mention his defense.

I admitt I was wrong about them being washed up at the beginning of the season. I'm eating crow.

But...on the other hand ...just look how aweful they ( the big three) looked.  It has taken them half the season to get back into NBA playing shape. When you see guys walking up and down the court making millions you gotta rethink what is going on.

Their job as PRO's is to be READY to play and be in shape , that is what they do for a living. I was mad enough to trade them off for that reason alone. PP gut was starting to resemble DA BIG BABY and KG looked like he needed a wheelchair.

I think they are FINALLY as good as they are going to get this year. Wish we had Wilcox and Green .

WHat the Celtics do Sunday against the HEATERS might just well tale the the tale of what to expect in the playoffs.

This team, oddly enough, is playing well because of injuries. Doc was forced to play Steamer and Bradley major minutes. This is the type team, I envisioned we could have from the start.


Now if Ray and Doc can check their egos at the door and let Ray be our super sixth man, I think the good times will continue. But If Ray re-enters the starting lineup, I predict the ship will start sinking again.
