When was Bradleys shot consistent (in a good way)? He isnt shooting well at all in my book. He has a good FG% because he gets layups (created by other people), and hits wide open shots because defenders sag off him. He does NOT come close to Rays shooting.
He's a far better defender than Ray at guarding smaller players, but he has shown no ability to guard bigger SGs (see Gerald Henderson). Where he helps the most (perimeter defense), is already one of our starting units strong suits. That makes his biggest advantage over Ray almost meaningless.
The only advantage to AB starting in place of Ray, would be that Ray could help our second unit more than Bradleys inclusion in the starting unit could hurt.
i agree with much, though not all of the above. yes, his shot is NOT consistent, at least not yet. i think his shooting will improve and he will be a threat from behind the 3 point line. but i think he will be most dangerous when cutting to the basket. he is fast and aggressive and can score a bunch doing that.
his defense against taller guards is, as we would expect from anyone, not his strength. heck, height rules in the nba in general and posting up is a tried and true tactic. taller people can catch passes and shoot over AB. but this is not fatal in my opinion, more of a matchup problem and doc can solve some of this with in-game adjustments.
i find AB's defense to be most effective when harrying the opposing pg as they come up the court. by the time the other team gets into its offensive set, often there is only 12-14 seconds left on the shot clock. that means when the opposing teams run their plays, they dont have time for 2nd or 3rd options.
great!

one more thing.
it is fun to see how the mood of the board can swing. for a while, AB was being held personally responsible for global warming, the black plague, and the clubbing of baby seals.
now, not so much and he is viewed by some ready to replace a HOF guard just as soon as his nobel prize arrives in the mail.
ok, ok... hyperbole is a hobby of mine, but it can be fun.
while i have backed AB for a while, i am not sure he is ready to replace allen. i think that AB will improve with each game and by next season i expect him to score consistently 12-14 points a game....but he will never score at allen's level.
so for now, keep allen as the starter. let AB get a lot of minutes off the bench.
