I think minutes is the important factor here. I don't care who starts, but Bradley has earned minutes and should continue to get them regardless of who starts. And not just with the second unit.  I love Ray, and I want him back next year, but there's no denying that youth and fresh legs are good for this team.

Ray would have a tougher time scoring if he was in with our bench guys.

Ray is a catch and shoot guy for the most part, he cant really crate his own shot, and when he does he turns the ball over.

Him on the second unit would mean playing with lesser skilled guys that wont be adept at setting good screens and making sure they get Ray open. It would be a disaster, Ray pretty much relies soely on Rondo knowing Rays spots.

Without Rondo, Ray would have a really hard time scoring, ever since Perk left Ray is nearly never open for shots anymore.

I disagree, RR pretty much plays the entire game except a few minutes, Ray and RR will be together most of that time anyway. Also, Ray already plays with the bench, he is usually the guy doc brings back in with them (Dooling is just starting to get a little more minutes).

When was Bradleys shot consistent (in a good way)?  He isnt shooting well at all in my book.  He has a good FG% because he gets layups (created by other people), and hits wide open shots because defenders sag off him.  He does NOT come close to Rays shooting.

He's a far better defender than Ray at guarding smaller players, but he has shown no ability to guard bigger SGs (see Gerald Henderson).  Where he helps the most (perimeter defense), is already one of our starting units strong suits.  That makes his biggest advantage over Ray almost meaningless.

The only advantage to AB starting in place of Ray, would be that Ray could help our second unit more than Bradleys inclusion in the starting unit could hurt.

i agree with much, though not all of the above. yes, his shot is NOT consistent, at least not yet. i think his shooting will improve and he will be a threat from behind the 3 point line. but i think he will be most dangerous when cutting to the basket. he is fast and aggressive and can score a bunch doing that.

his defense against taller guards is, as we would expect from anyone, not his strength. heck, height rules in the nba in general and posting up is a tried and true tactic. taller people can catch passes and shoot over AB. but this is not fatal in my opinion, more of a matchup problem and doc can solve some of this with in-game adjustments.

i find AB's defense to be most effective when harrying the opposing pg as they come up the court. by the time the other team gets into its offensive set, often there is only 12-14 seconds left on the shot clock. that means when the opposing teams run their plays, they dont have time for 2nd or 3rd options.

great!  :D

one more thing.

it is fun to see how the mood of the board can swing. for a while, AB was being held personally responsible for global warming, the black plague, and the clubbing of baby seals.

now, not so much and he is viewed by some ready to replace a HOF guard just as soon as his nobel prize arrives in the mail.

ok, ok... hyperbole is a hobby of mine, but it can be fun.

while i have backed AB for a while, i am not sure he is ready to replace allen. i think that AB will improve with each game and by next season i expect him to score consistently 12-14 points a game....but he will never score at allen's level.

so for now, keep allen as the starter. let AB get a lot of minutes off the bench.

Pietrus is the guy to start over Ray: better defense and rebounding and better 3-point shooting/better wing defense than Bradley.

Though I would prefer to start Bradley when we match up with teams like Milwaukee and Detroit.  We don't need as much firepower against those teams, but I'm terrified of Ray guarding the likes of Ellis and Stuckey.

The more I see Bradley in the starting lineup, the more I like the idea. Allen can bring some scoring to our second unit, and I hate how the 1st team offense becomes stagnant as it looks to get him shots. Plus, it would be nice to see Allen enter the game, around the same time Pietrus and a re-entered KG do. Don't think the second team would miss a beat and would prevent some of these 2Q scoring droughts we often get into.

I dont really care if he AB starts or not he just needs to play 20-25 minutes a game with Rondo. When AB runs the floor with Rondo he consistently gets open lay-ups/dunks.

I don't want Ray Allen off the bench he has enough trouble getting open as it is, if he's off the bench that issue will only get worse.

Yeah I just want Bradley to get court time as primary backup SG/PG especially if Pietrus isn't healthy.

I LOVE BRADLEY, the 5 start he has for us was amazing, love the way he played against the Wolves tonight, that steal he had in the 4th quarter was just beautiful!

can we please keep him Danny! :)

Not if he's coming in with a re-entered KG around the 1 minute mark. I just think that when Allen is in the game we focus too much on trying to get him shots and lose flow to our O. Remember that a fresh Allen would also be going up against subs. This could result in easier shots coming off screens as their defensive rotations shouldn't be as crisp as versus starting lineups. I don't mind KG, Pietrus, Steimsma, Dooling, and Allen against other team's bench players at all.

I think it should at least be considered. Bradley takes more pressure off of Rondo than Ray. He is better at moving to the basket without the ball because he's younger and he's a decent spot up shooter. He pushes the pace on offense and gives Rondo more options in transition. More importantly, he handles the load on defense and let's Rondo slack some.

I think we could have Ray and Pietrus come off the bench at 2-3 and see what happens with Dooling in there. I'm not sure if it would work, but I think our starting offense is better with Bradley. Ray would obviously get crunch time minutes.

I'm don't thinks our offense is better, our defense certainly is.

We haven't exactly been running up the score on opponents the games Bradley has started.

As Rondo said in the post game interview, it starts with defense.

Starter or second unit. I don't really care as long as he gets a lot of minutes. Pure energy!

Avery is makin me shut the hell up this season at the begening of the year i thought he was trash since he had 0 confidence in his shootin nd dribbling but he's improved like crazy all year. Hate to say it but i think Ray is gonna be gone next year nd maybe Bradley can average 10 ppg if he can increase his scoring dat much I'll take back everything I said about dude
