I know this is older news, but i didnt see a thread on it and just wanted to wish the guy the best.  The law firm tweeted this today

Guy is a class act and I will miss pulling for him on Sundays.

I agree he's a class act and a solid player, but I think it's a good move for the Pats to let him go.  His longest rush last year was for only 18 yards (and I believe his career long was only 33 yards).  He was very solid in that he never fumbled, but he certainly wasn't the game changer that Ridley (or Vereen) can be.

Yes, but he was effective at goal line, which is how the Pats used him. I think it was a good move to let him go from a financials p.o.v., but I think focusing on the length of his rushes is a little misleading.  Put differently, you could say that he scored basically the same amount of TDs as Marshawn Lynch, who is considered a franchise guy.

Don't blame Law Firm one bit for going after greener pastures.   It was a great company guy with the Pats and I appreciated his north/south running style (especially in contrast to Maroney).

Right move by the Pats from a cap standpoint plus you didn't draft the kids (Ridley & Vereen) highly to have them linger behind on the depth chart.

You show the money to your core guys like Brady/Mankins/Wilfork/Mayo but you don't overpay for the second tier guys.  Pats do this just about as well as any team in the league.
