Ton of talent, ounce of drive.  Too bad, because Williams showed flashed in NJ.  Despite his well documented troubles, I'd take a shot at him if there weren't any other alternatives.

Kick the tires the rest of the season, and see if some KG and Doc could get Williams career pointing in the right direction.

You'd be surprised how long Williams can make an ounce last these days.  Won't be down to the shake until after the Finals end...

(sorry, couldn't help myself  :D )

Appropriate:  in Sean Williams' first closeup on camera, he lets out a huge yawn.

out of this world athletic player who has a choppy looking game.

The complete opposite would be big baby who is one of the least athletic guys in league but has a very smooth game.

The thing with williams is that overall he is slow. If you look past his immense vertical leap, there is alot of work to be done still.

Maybe kg can help.

TP 2 the OP for his Swame-like powers.

I would much rather have them bring back Montross and Acie Earl.
Oh I agree. I really don't understand either the Hollins signing or this. I mean there aren't NBDL players or ant other pros better than these guys?
Where is Andre Fetisov and Ben Peppers when you need them?

Did Williams get a contract for next year? It seems like it, according to ESPN.com.

My guess would be that he was offered a non-guaranteed deal, so that we'll retain his rights at least through summer league.

just curious, but any info on what the celtics are paying williams? if it nba-cheap money, then the worse cases for williams next year might be...

1. cast him adrift and the celtics pay chump change.

2. 15th guy on roster. a few games a year wherein he plays and jumps and blocks shots. the end.

even if signed through next year, i dont see the worse case scenarios as being particularly onerous, let alone fatal, to the team.

on the other hand, look at hollins last night. he actually had energy and played pretty good switching defense near the perimeter. i was impressed with some of his defensive switches considering the lack of practices etc.

and he seemed to play within himself and his role. 4-5 times he bad the ball about 10-12 from the basket....too far for him to shoot and too many defenders to drive to the hoop. so he passed the ball. smart, non-hero moves that helped the team.

if hollins can at least be convinced to learn and try hard, maybe maybe maybe the celtics very popular coach can convince williams to grow up and play a specific role for the team.

but then again...it is saturday morning, i am drinking coffee, the flowers in my garden are blooming, the cherry blossoms are still gorgeous, and i am in an extremely positive state of mind.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

TP for noticing that as well.  I was thinking, "no, Sean, is that really how you wanted to introduce yourself to the Celtics faithful?"

I think "Sleepy" might make a nice nickname.

I know this is an old topic and williams is not even dressed right now. But with everyone talking about trading for, drafting, signing FA PF/C, is SW also in the mix ??

Did he look good enough , playing the last three games in the year?

If Bass and Wilcox is brought back, is there any room for the kid?

does anyone else think Williams fires up a fatty before each playoff game and thinks to himself, how am i getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to have a grand ole time on the bench. Williams is a true green teamer.

Nothing like watching the games through "green-tinted" glasses.
