Sean Williams was just waived by the Mavs. We should pick him up. I watched him alot at BC and he was a shot blocking beast. His size (6'10 235lbs) would definitely benefit us. He's always been just a little immature, and I think being around this veteran group would raise his play and maturity.

He would have to clear waivers first since we're over the cap...

Williams is far more athletic than Stiemsma** and also a year younger. Williams was making amazing defensive plays just under 3 years ago for Lawrence Frank's NJ Nets...

I'd love this on my team

No, I don't want to pick him up because he's got some pretty well chronicled character problems, seems to have a bit of a drug problem, has done nothing with his physical skills but regressed since his start in the NBA, and because he threw up on the Mavericks bench.

The Dallas Mavericks just waived former Boston College center Sean Williams. Would the #celtics dare pursue him?

Williams had the tools, and was on the verge of becoming an elite NBA talent when he was like 19/20... dude has ZERO drive.

He's on the minimum salary, so the Celtics should be able to claim him, but a worse team would have priority.

Ton of talent, ounce of drive.  Too bad, because Williams showed flashed in NJ.  Despite his well documented troubles, I'd take a shot at him if there weren't any other alternatives.

Kick the tires the rest of the season, and see if some KG and Doc could get Williams career pointing in the right direction.
