Really is too bad we couldn't put a deal for Kaman together. He is killing it right now and would have been great with Rondo.

Oh well...

I think Hollins needs to play with a guy who can throw lobs. He didn't have that in Minny nor in Cleveland. Yet, in Dallas he was pretty good and J Kidd hooked him up more then a few times. I think playing with rondo and KG could be real nice for him on both ends of the floor.

KG: "Dude.... What is up with yo shorts?!"

Kaman really wasn't available.  They were only going to move him if they got  great deal.  They want to resign him...

This is scary.

From a Cavs poster:

"good...Hollins made his own bed. He had endless opportunities to show he gives a ****, and failed every time. i've never seen a big man who avoided rebounds so consistently. most of the time he wouldn't even bother to box out or go after the ball. what a waste of height. it baffles me when players get the opportunity to play in the NBA and they fail to even put forth effort. so many people would kill for that opportunity and a lot of these guys just p--- it away. some of these guys must think they can just coast along and survive on their height alone. you could tell that Hollins is one of those guys who never really cared about basketball and the only reason he started playing basketball was because he was blessed with height."

Based on this I vote to sign him, as long as we have an agreement to film and post his first practice against KG.

this deserves 100 Tommy Points

Theres definitely more of an X-Factor about this kid than Turiaf or Josh Powell despite the reported lack of effort.

You never know, it could work out great, or it could be a complete fail.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

I hope Danny makes the right choice...reading some of this stuff about Hollins makes me pause. I can imagine that perhaps a change of scenery would be good for him, though.

Whoever Danny brings in needs to hit the deckplates running. KG and Bass need some rest.

sweeeeet! gracious ;).  For real though, he has an agressive side to him that I like.  He needs to finish stronger but like others said, maybe the company he's with will help him.  at least he gives us a body.

I like Hollins as a third string center. Very good athlete and a decent defender albeit a very limited offensive player and horrid rebounder.

However, I don't think Hollins adds anything necessary to this current Celtics team. Stiemsma already has that third string center role locked down ... and if Boston's only option to provide additional big man depth is another third string quality center, I'd rather bring in someone who offers more contrast skill-set wise to Stiemsma.

Someone with bulk. Physical toughness. Low post defense. A 6-11 270lbs type a guy (why in the world did Danny not sign Eric Dampier earlier in the year when he was available? It was nuts to pass on him). Not someone like Ryan Hollins.

He'll be joining JO and Wilcox if he ever signed with us this season.
