If Bass goes down, who starts at PF?

I'm really starting to question if Bass can survive the rest of the season. His knee is just continually playing up and I think he's going to miss at least another 10 games this season because of it.

We currently have:
JJJ
Steimsma
*minimum salary free agent spot 1
*minimum salary free agent spot 2

If Turiaf or Mozgov Fesenko somehow get on our squad, does KG slide to the 4 and Mozgov Fesenko start?
Or do we run with JJJ at PF and KG at center?

Or will it be KG at PF and Steimsma at center (who's having his own foot problems).

Lord help us, Johnson might be playing a lot more minutes than anyone ever anticipated. I hope he's ready.

Who's one of our most knowledgeable posters - can't have em', BOS ;D.

But seriously it'd have to be JJ, until we brought someone else onboard.

I haven't heard of us getting Mozgov. I'd prefer him over Chris Johnson or Turiaf.

I wouldn't mind Reggie Evans, either - even though he's only 6'8" I believe.

I share the same concerns with Bass - I love the guy, but I'd rather he don't play so many minutes. Same with KG.

Get Mozgov (or this Fesenko fellow) and slide KG back to the 4. If that doesn't go through then get Reggie.

Sorry, long day at work today, I meant the other lumbering euro monster...fesenko  ::) don't reggie Evans and kg hate each other. Who can't we have? They'd all be min salary players right?

Apologize for the attempt at humor.

Humor escapes us all at times. The number of dissenters in the Game Thread last night, even after we won, was disappointing to me, to say the least.

I'd LOVE for some of those dissenters to live throught the Lean Years.

But anyways I'm unaware of any animosity between KG or Reggie.

I thought that Reggie stated at one time that "He'd be honored" to come to BOS...that was before he signed with Clips.

I assume that we showed some interest, then didn't pursue him any further because we were set with our Bigs (at the time).

Well, unfortunate - here we are, with JO and Wilcox being done...and KG and Bass playing too many minutes.

And Reggie's held up for the entire year.

At this point I'm as worried about Stiemer's foot--whatever the heck is wrong with it.

But clearly 3J is Doc's last option. I take it Danny will have an actual, full-sized center added to the roster within the week, and depending on how good and experienced he is, he'd likely get the call ahead of Stiemer anyway.

I think Doc's list of options are:

1 - Pietrus
2 - Daniels
3 - JJJ

Isn't Reggie Evans basically Shelden Williams with better rebounding but not better hands?

I loved the Hawks win. Gritty defense and forced them to play our style of game.

I don't think I'd be one of those dissenters you're talking about and I'm usually one of the more positive guys on this forum but there was something about that game today that really disturbed and discouraged me, and I did get rather angry. It was that sorta game.

Due to KG being an amazing defensive player I'd rather JJJ got the start, any deficiencies he has would be lessened by playing with kg and starters.

Thanks for post - I missed the history between those two.

I'm sure that if BOS picked him up, Reggie'd be singing a different tune, once he got to know KG.

As much as I disliked Bill Laimbeer, Isiah Thomas, Dumars and Co LOVED the guy.

most of the playoff teams in the east (except for the magic) dont have a real center. noah is tall but not that strong. joel anthony is the same thing.

even tho evans is undersized, he provides some toughness down low, especially on the boards.

i feel like hes the kind of guy you dont want to battle with for a rebound. even if you end up getting the ball, you will struggle and really have to earn it.

boston loves/needs those types of guys.

Short of a free agent signing (which better come quick!), Bass going down means smallball; Pierce and Sasha/Daniels playing the forward spots, with KG in the middle.

He did look pretty gimpy at the end of the Hawks game.  Worrisome.

As far as I'm concerned, it's Boris Diaw or bust for our frontcourt rotation.  He's the only guy out there (at least potentially, Charlotte's taking its time on a buyout) that's versatile enough offensively and defensively to absorb a ton of minutes in the frontcourt.
