Barnes is overrated. He can't get to the basket like Brad Beal, MKG, or Dion Waiters can. He's a good shooter but outside of that I'll take MKG and Beal over him as all around players.

What about Jefferson, Delonte West and Tony Allen in 2004?
Ainge made those picks all in one draft. You can't talk about JR Giddens at pick 27 like it's a horrid pick and not mention Delonte and Tony Allen.

Glen Davis at 35 was a very good pick. The guy was in the running for 6th man of the year for 4 years of the big 4 era.
Ainge then did what he does very well.- got rid of Baby once he had reached his ceiling and got Brandon Bass.
There's a reason he's voted as 4th best drafting GM in the NBA.
I bet you're against the Perkins trade happening and it's the major reason you say Ainge has a questionable drafting record, because the facts speak differently.

You really hope that as a person everyone of these guys pan out (except whoever the cHeat and Lakers pick) but that's not going to happen. I think the one guy in the lottery that will bust is Perry Jones, I like him but he's more suited for a team in the back end. I think Davis and Robinson are safe picks, MKG is a lotto ticket who could either be an average starter or all star. Then you have Barnes who I think will be an average starter, he's also more polished than Marvin Williams was too when he entered the draft. The two guys in the upper part of the draft I would stay away from as a lottery team is Drummond and Jones. Lilliard perhaps as well, only because he never really played against high level of competition in college but it also wouldn't surprise me if he lived up to his billing too. So many questions in this draft

I don't see a reason why he can't do stuff like this in the pros. With that high release and cerebral game, Barnes will be very good in the pros.

Trust me, the Celtics arent missing out on Barnes. I keep hearing Barnes drawing Paul Pierce comparisons which really aggrivates me. I wached a lot of UNC games this past year and Barnes has a really hard time creating his own shot and rarely drives to the basket. On top of that he disapears in big games and lacks the killer instinct and mentality that forwards like Paul Pierce and Kevin Durant have.

The dude is still lethal with the pull up jumper and could put up 20 + points on a bad team but other than that i think his ceiling is Luol Deng. I also said similar things about Lamarcus Aldridge so you just never know how guys will do until they're actually in the NBA, surrounded by the competition day in and day out. Barnes could prove me wrong but i'd be very surprised if he did. I'd say he's going to end up being the 9th best player from this class.

I think the Celtics are better off staying put and fishing for a steal with their picks other than moving up for a guy like Barnes who has so many question marks.

i would be heart broken if we grabbed harrison barnes. the kid will not be a superstar... he is over-rated so, so, so, so unbelievably. in a fair world he would go at #10 or #11 in the draft.
