Every contender will be competing for him.

Spurs and Heat will likely be our toughest competition.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
At some point before the end of the year we need to add one or two bigs. Hopefully Kaman is bought out and can be one of those bigs.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

he would likely get a bigger role in the offense and more playing time for the c's than he would with heat or spurs

i thought stern/hornets insisted that kaman wouldn't be bought out if they didn't find a trade.  Could be all talk, but I think they look at it as a problem if the NBA-owned hornets give away a player of Kaman's caliber.

Update from Woj:

Quote
Miami, Boston, San Antonio will be aggressive suitors for Chris Kaman should he inevitably be bought out of Hornets deal, sources tell Y!

I like the sound of inevitably.

Yesterday, his agent said that he would be a perfect fit for the Cs, but that a lot of things would have to break right for that to occur. If he isn't traded, that's break #1.

He said Boston was one of Kaman's preferred destinations.

Just don't assume that Kaman will get bought out of the contract, because anything is still possible with league running the Hornets.

Actually, I think it was an unnamed source. I think it may have been another GM, just speaking hypothetically.

i think we'll have to trade for him if we want him.  THey have insisted he will not be bought out.  Because say Boston signed him for nothing...a lot of teams would be angry at David Stern/the league for gifting Kaman to the Celtics.

I think a big reason he chooses us over Miami, San Antonio, etc. is because we have a lot of cap room this summer and can sell him on being re-signed for more money than the MLE those other teams can offer. The only other team that provides a true threat is Dallas. They too could offer him money next season and a starting spot on a playoff team. Plus, he and Dirk are said to be good friends and are teammates on the German national team.
