I just realized why Perk told Danny to sign JO.

He didn't want anyone taking his minutes.

Hmmm?  Seems a little strange.

If true, and we can't trade him for an upgrade, I'd wait until after the buyout deadline to cut him.  Then he'd have no chance at joining anyone for a playoff run.

Well said. It's just sad.

Ugh, so if he's healthy enough to help the Heat why can't he help us still this year?

Perhaps he's not crazy about spending possibly his last year on a team he doesn't view as a contender.

The shoe is now officially on the other foot.

If this is true then he really is a loser. No other way of putting it.

What a piece of trash.  How can he even walk into the Celtics training facilities each day with his head up...

Why would we make this deal, unless we assume that JO is done for the year, lol. There is a decent chance we will run into Miami in the postseason. Why would we want them to get better?

I'd rather let him rot on IR. I'll send some money in if necessary too. F him.

Because it's a waste of a roster spot for them.  Between Curry and O'Neal, you've got 600 pounds of slacker slop sitting on your sideline.

Let's hold off on calling for JO's head unless we actually know for a fact this is happening.

I mean seriously, how many rumors have there been in the past 24 hours alone that have been blatantly false? Like Hollinger continuing to insist Rondo is on the trading block.

I would honestly bet money that this was pulled out of someone's butt and has no basis in reality.

If Ainge hadn't signed JO, the money probably would have gone to sign Brad Miller.

It has been said that O'Neal's desire to play for Miami has much to do with his respect for their medical staff, much like why Grant Hill stayed in Phoenix.  I really can't fault that possible part of his thinking.

In theory, knowing that O'Neal would happily agree to a buy-out should make him even more attractive as an expiring contract.

I agree, a lot of questionable information out there...
Let's give JO the benefit of the doubt on the wanting to get traded to Miami until someone shows some more info.

I know Ainge's hands were tied.

If we can't move JOs expiring contract, let his ass walk to Miami so that the fans can boo the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. out of that worthless POS next time he comes to Boston.

Also, who cares? The Heat aren't the Lakers, there's no reason to have existential hate for their organization. I don't like D-Wade, personally, but I really don't see what all the hate is about. They got their comeuppance in last year's Finals (and, honestly, at this point I see the Bulls as the stronger team to come out of the East, so I wouldn't even bet on them winning this year either), so just let them play.
