Celtics future plans were held hostage by 2012 Dwight Howard FA's. Now that Dwight opted in and is Orlando for at least another year. C's can move on, and get Big3 help.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6ut58ht

Celtics in: Big Al
Celtics out: JO, Wilcox, Dooling, and 1st round pick.

I'm just wondering about Utah's incentive to do that.  Isn't Big Al one of their major building blocks?

No, he is one of their big trade chips.

Right now, he is blocking more play time for their major building blocks, Favors and Kanter.

Well, if they were willing to do that, we'd have to seriously consider it.  What year would the 1st round pick be?

I can live with this but we need some defense...he cannot play defense. Also is it too much to ask to merge the 100 big al trade threads :)

I don't think the Celtics have enough.  I imagine they will be looking for a good PG to replace Harris going forward.

maybe we can get Mitch Kupchak on it. It seems like he always gets what he wants.

If Al would have learned to pass better out of the low post I'd live with his defense.  He really hasn't improved much since we've had him. pass

Was thinking the exact same thing, except for in the offseason.

The celtics, if they exercise their available cap space, could trade for Jefferson without matching salaries, an added incentive for Utah if they want to make room for kanter/favors and cut their salary. Celtics could send Jajuan, Bradley and picks for Jefferson, and still be under the cap by about 5-10 million or so.
