The Bass-BBD deal is arguably his shrewdest move ever, outside of signing Rondo long term to cheap reasonable contract.

After a couple misses, he's back to finding valuable talent late in the draft.

The Pietrus acquisition was a big one for this particular team.

The Celtics are in the best shape, salary cap-wise, than they have been in at least a decade if not much longer.

And let's not forget the 1 title, 2 EC titles, 4 straight Atlantic Division titles while doing this.

The only people who are down on Danny are either Perkins diehards or people who think you can just get whoever you want on the open market or via trade.

I wouldn't want any other GM.

Danny has been terrible as a GM post-2008

Hes singed either often injured old vets, or non-impact players.

Only good thing hes really done since 2008 is flip Baby for Bass.

Flippin Eddie and Walker for Nate was a very underrated move. Drafting Semih was a good pick. Not resigning Posey was a good bad call.

fixed  ;)

sorry the way he played after he left didnt justify the amount or length of his contract.

the only moves i didnt like were not resigning tony and trading semih for roster space.

I concur that those are Danny's two worst decisions in recent history.

That is good. Means he is working hard and isn't going to take any "cheap" price.

Yup.  That is what I like to hear.  Danny is dealing from a place of strength.  He is looking at a ton of cap room to start over this summer, and he really does not need to be motivated to make any significant moves.  So, teams need to pay a premium if they want his guys.

yes, he's in a position of strength in this deadline, so I'm sure he's taking full advantage of it. Maybe he's making the teams that after Ray pay through the nose and compete against each other

Yeah, I agree - I was encouraged to see that.  Teams are trying to lowball us for our assets, and I'm glad Danny's not playing along.

I'd prefer a good deal or two like everyone else, but if we don't get a strong offer, so be it - we play out the year and have our cap space and picks to rebuild with in the offseason.

Also I think a good chance some of our guys KG/Ray actually do stick around which I don't mind
