Rumor is for JJ Hickson. I'll buy it - if we can get Hickson for a 2nd rounder or something, I'll take it. He fills a need and he'll be cheap.
Ugh--that was my initial reaction. He was pretty good last season in Cleveland but has been decidedly unimpressive in Sacramento this year--and I'm never encouraged by a mediocre performance on a bad team. He average 8.7 rebounds last year, so if he could replicate that I'd be happy; then again, he's only 6-9, so doesn't bring much length. Well, I guess beggars can't be choosers.
The rebounding is a question, although I am not surprised he has struggled in Sacramento. He is not the type of player who can make his own shot. He needs others to create them for him, but he is a very strong finisher when they do. Sacramento, unfortunately for him, is filled with only players that create shots for themselves. The C's (and the Cavs with Lebron) on the other hand are the opposite. They move the ball a lot, and have guys who can create shots for others.
He really is very similar to Wilcox on Detroit, as compared to when he was playing with Ridnour and company in Seattle. If someone can take advantage of his cuts, then he is effective, otherwise, he is pretty useless.
