Sources confirm: Lakers, Wolves and Blazers discussing three-team deal. Michael Beasley to LA, Jamal Crawford to MIN, Steve Blake to POR.

Other players and picks will likely be added to the LA-MIN-POR three-team deal. Those are just the names I'm hearing right now.

Blazers love Steve Blake. Swapping Crawford for him would dramatically improve the locker room.

I could see Felton going to LA as well, to replace Blake.

How about this trade?

Min trade Beasley and Ridnour

Receives Felton, Crawford and trade exception.

LA trade a 1st  (along with the trade exception)

Recieves Beasley

Portland trade Felton and Crawford

Receives Ridnour and 1st

Portland does cartwheels. I'm sure they'd happily take Steve Blake back from LA too, if the Lakers need to send out a little payroll.

No, they don't.  They have the Trade Exception from when they traded Odom to Dallas.  It is enough to cover Beasley.

They do have the TE. But the Odom trade was about financial relief. Adding Beasley's salary back makes their luxury tax payment shoot up again. Sending out a little salary in Blake might be something they'd want to do, not need to do.
Well, the Lakers saved more than half a year's Odom salary. That is pretty good relief.

No they didn't save that much.  Per Hoopds World the Lakers will be charged for Beasely's entire year's salary from a luxury tax standpoint...

Interesting bc they really need a PG.

If Dwight opts in I wonder if they would be thinking of Deron for either Bynum or Gasol.

Still trying to figure out why Portland does this at all?

Then I realized it was the Lakers and they can just snap their fingers and get pretty much anyone they want to do the trade they want.

Portland does it because Felton and Crawford helped to organize a mini-mutiny against McMillian.

If both those point guards are involved in the deal one has to be going to LAL. Im guessing LAL are trying to get Felton and Beasley. Not sure it would work but I cant see LA getting involved without bringing back fELT OR Rid.

But they could still get much more for him if they traded him on their own.

There are conflicting reports about that.  One version is that the mutiny was lead by Felton and Camby, but not by Crawford.

In any case, they're gonna need to unload Felton.

To play devil's advocate, I kinda hate Nate McMillan as a coach for the Blazers. He's loosened the reigns a little this year, but not nearly enough in my opinion. This team is dying to run.

Too bad the Knicks let D'Antoni go, could've orchestrated the rare coach-trade. Makes a lot of sense for both sides.

Beasley would be a great piece moving forward.
Sad that Danny didnt try harder.

Have I lost my mind? Are people really bummed that the Lakers are in the verge of acquiring Michael Beasely, a player who will only limit the significant advantage they should have in their front court even more? Do people think THAT is going to improve locker morale? Metta World Peace is going to be psyched about being further demoted? They're better off acquiring a ball stopping SF than upgrading their PG position? That's what people are bummed about?

If you're a Laker hater this should be like Christmas.
