From reading some of the responses on here I can tell some others disagree, but I didnt think this team was going anywhere with D'Antoni anyways.
Dont get me wrong, the Knicks are in complete disarray and it's not Mikes fault, and it may never work with that roster. In my opinion though, if that team is ever going to turn it around and become a contender this is a step that I think was gonna have to happen.
I dont think I'm alone either, when the Knicks started bringing in all these stars and trying to build a contender, a good percentage of people's response was, 'Now all they gotta do is get rid of D'Antoni.
His system is too gimmicky, like 'Nellie-Ball', it looks good, puts up great numbers, but in the end it never works, and if it does, it wont be enough against a team with a legit defensive system in place.
....which is why all we've done is pee on them for the past 4 years
