Would you make this move?

Keyon Dooling and the Clipper's pick for Aaron Gray and Toronto's second round pick?

Aaron Gray is no all star, but he's a big 7 foot, 270 lbs - and to me that is all this team, with our big four, has ever needed in the middle. A space eater who is physical and will hit people coming down the lane.

Also, Gray is a decent finisher around the basket and I think he'd get a lot of little bunnies, probably average 10 points a game with this team.

This would be a small move that wouldn't dramatically hurt us in the long run but if at least Wilcox can come back, would give us that one more big man in the middle that I think is preventing this team from having a real, legit shot at a title this year.

I think the Clippers pick is too valuable in this draft to surrender for Gray. I'd ultimately like to see us explore packaging our two first rounders this year to move up in the draft.

I think Gray would fill an absolute need and is paid well below his market value, $918,000. I actually would consider JJJ for Gray. I think he offers a scarcer commodity than JJJ's ceiling.

I would not include any of our 1st round picks unless it goes for Chris Kaman, Josh Smith, Paul Millsap or Al Jefferson. A deal for Gray, in my opinion, should include O'Neal's contract and JJJ and maybe a 2nd round pick. Why include O'Neal's contract? To take back Gray AND Amir Johnson to replace Wilcox's minutes.

I think Toronto values Johnson higher than trading him for an expiring.

Also, with $20M remaining on his contract, I don't think the Celtics would be interested in that commitment into their cap space.

I rather trade for Semih Erden. Maybe giving back to Cleveland the 2nd round pick in next year's draft is enough.

He knows the system. Performed well. Gray...i don't know. Too slow. Too fat. If i was in Danny's shoes i would stay put and use the Clippers pick in Fab Melo, center of Syracuse. The kid is a beast! And brazilian as well  :)

Ive never really liked Gray as a player. Id give up a second round pick for him, probably not much else.

Yeah, 1st round pick may be too much, that's valid.. Although, how many picks from 1-10 have been NBA busts, let alone picks over #20...

My motivation is getting us one, reliable big man who can provide size and muscle for 15 minutes a night. I really that is all that is preventing us from making a serious run this year. I like gray for that - but also like him long term as a 2nd or 3rd string center - who can occasionally start - in our rotation.

I would love to have Erden back as well. I watched him the other day, looks like he's put on some muscle and he's very active big man, plays long around the rim.

With a top-20 protection in the Clippers pick (right now it's the #21 pick and trending down), yes. It's unlikely that the talent in the late 1st rounder is significantly worse than the early 2nd round talent. And the rookie contracts/cap holds would be smaller.

Tough call. Keeping flipping back and forth between "yes" and "no".

Yeah, I am going to go with "no". Not enough of a big man upgrade to justify hurting the Celtics draft position next summer. If gave Boston a chance at competing for a title, I'd do it but Aaron Gray isn't a large enough contributor to do that.
