I believe the trade contract Bynum for Howard has been on the owners desk for a month at least. Its not Otis Smiths decision anymore (yea or Ney) when it comes to DH. Otis would have traded already... it s the only logical thing to do if you want a certain good value. Even he can see that.
Otis has been trying to drum up some talent to make DH rethink his decsion.
The owner has been sucking up like crazy thinking he can get DH to stay.
And basically , I think all of this is setting up Orlando for a HUGE letdown . I believe as others pointed out DH wants to play out the season at Orlando. (love em and leave em)
Blame TV ocntracts , Nike , and all the mega media exposure, that pay the players millions more than their team contracts. CHeck out ROses rosie deal in Chicago.
If DW just wanted rings , he'd take a pay cut and join one of several teams that would be instant contender with him on the club.
Thats not waht he want, basketball is down the list . MONEY , enough to make him in TOTOAL team pay and endorsments the highest paid NBA player. TO do that he needs the largest market to garner the highest paid endorsements. Thats in the NYC, NY hood folks ...where millions of kids are waiting money in fist to buy ALL HIS endorsements.
This sorta makes him the MR HANEY of the NBA peddling his products to all the kids in the city.
I believe even if he gets traded to LA..... he'll never stay....where ever he lands ..he'll run as hard as he can go
BACK to NYC/NJ to get that endorsment contracts signed ASAP. Where he can sit on his throne as slum lord of the tennisshoe business.
The lawyers all have him pointed in the right direction to make money for DH and themselves.... make no mistake , they are pointing him to the Nets no matter what.
Follow the trail to the biggest purse and you'll find DH.
