this will be a false alarm.
they are probably just being extra careful.

I hope you are right, and he can keep on with his career and most important, his life.

Until more tests are done, I'm not getting worked up about this.

very strange.
I assume the organization is just being overly cautious, though.
Celtics fan for life.

I would assume they will either break up the team or decide to play JJJ.  It just occured to me that this is the perfect justification to blow it up without a lot of outcry.

if the majority of us thought we were a fringe contender with Wilcox, why would the loss of Wilcox suddenly make us want to throw away 1st round draft picks??

let JJJ and Stiemer fill in the minutes.  pick up a cheap veteran if need be to fill the gap.

if this team gets anywhere this year it's going to be because we have a triple-double machine playing PG for us, not because we have Chris Wilcox at backup PF.

Not that it matters greatly, but I wonder how this came about. He may have been feeling ill, or he may have been taking a physical for a trade.

The hits just keep coming.

I wish Wilcox the best.

The Celtics are saving lives this season it seems.

that's the key. You usually don't run these type of tests unless a guy has some serious symptoms, which didn't look to be the case, or you are making a trade/signing. I'm glad whatever is is was caught early, but I hope it didn't kill a trade for us.

It sure seemed like Danny was getting close to pushing the "rebuild" button before (Ray for Hansbrough and a pick?), so it seems like this will just push him more in that direction.  Our frontcourt's been so weak all year, and Wilcox has generally been playing well.

I don't think they make a trade for a big.  As has been noted, a guy like Kaman isn't going to get the team to contender status.  If it's taking a 1st rounder to get him (or any other decent big), it's just not worth it this year.

Sign Gadzuric for bench depth (cut ties with Quis or Sasha to make room).  Keep exploring trades for Pierce/KG/Ray, start trying to bring in young talent.  Let's see what JJJ can do with a consistent 20-MPG role.

Aigh.  End times.

Most important, though - let's hope that Wilcox is OK.  Let's hope this is either nothing serious, or something that can be fixed.

and so the legend of Greg Stimsma begins continues...

all fixed.

why would he ho to an independent physician?
“We’re waiting for more testing,” said Ainge, who added that he didn’t know why Wilcox had the initial tests, which reportedly were conducted by an independent physician. “We didn’t find out until after he went.

What happens now?

Play JJJ and Stiemsma 20+ minutes each.  Don't bother spending more money on vets just to try and shore up the frontcourt situation.  No point.

I'm guessing that Danny will find a way to bring in a big body that he doesn't have to sell the farm to acquire.

Hoping for the best for Chris' life and his career.
