I thought I saw Jeff Green yesterday during a timeout but was surprised the ABC announcers didn't mention it.
I actually think Green will be DA's cap space safety valve this off season. We all know the Cs have treated him well and made him feel part of the team but that he's also unrestricted. Other teams will be unlikely to offer a long-term deal after major surgery. If and when the big FAs, i.e. Howard & Williams, turn down the Cs cap space, DA can offer Green a good chunk of change, say $7-9 million, for one year. This will help get the Cs to the minimum salary cap threshold, keep a talented (if a health risk) young ball player on the roster, and roll the cap room over to the next season.
Plus if Green plays well next year his value as a trade asset AND an expiring contract will be huge.
