57 points, 21-for-21 from the line.

Even when Rondo puts up an 18-17-20 stat line, I don't have any doubt that Deron is the better player.  57 points is just unreal, though.

57 is impressive, but it was the bobcats...which makes it slightly less impressive, but overally still impressive

Do we downplay Kobe's 81 cause it was against the Raptors? I have a hunch they weren't so good back then.

People certainly brought up the fact that Kobe's points came against a listless Raptor team.

it was cool but it was against the bobcats, lol and rondo has done what like 4 other legends in the nba has done against a good knicks team.

Does Rondo get extra credit for taking the myth of Jeremy Lin closer to reality?

He should. Lin does some things well, other things terribly.

A "good" Knicks team??  I thought they came in as a .500 team?

Yes, but they'd won 10 out of 13 going in. Maybe they meant good compared to Charlotte?

57 points is most assuredly impressive.  Just not as as impressive as Rondo's stat line from today.

All one has to do is look at the frequency at which either of the two occur.

KGs Knee,

Good point!!  But, no one has scored more this season and scoring has been down, which might make Deron's 57 even more impressive (compared to regular non-strike years).

Peace,

Kobe's 81 can't be downplayed at all, because that came in a game where the Lakers were getting absolutely demolished. When you're getting totally demolished and Kobe fights to bring you back in it the way he did with an 81 point performance, that needs to be respect. That demands respect.

With that said, this Knicks team is good. They are [dang] good. I know when I'm watching a good team when I see one, and this Knicks team is good. This is most definitely a win that the Celtics be proud of. Rondo can be proud of what he did in this game. Everybody on the Celtics that made a positive contribution can be happy.

Yeah but Rondo dropped his stat line on a d-leaguer

D-Will is a better player unquestionably.  Rondo still has game, though.

Perhaps as significant as Kobe's 81 vs TOR a few years ago.

Rondo's game? VS a playoff team, and the 10th ranked defense in the league.

Both Deron's (and Kobe's) games were incredible, no doubt - but Rondo's was more significant.

they are two different point guards with different skillsets, with the team that he has, it's not so amazing he gets to score that much since not much is really expected from his lackluster team..rondo, faults and all in scoring makes it up for other stats..no doubt deron is good, but rondo is brilliant in so many ways than one..
