Bass now starter.

JO is '-14 min.- backup center'.

Yeah I now Beasley not perfect;

But, Why are we waiting? Can we get Harden or Terry?!

Not unless someone has illicit pictures of Sam Presti on their cell phone.

Going in a slightly different direction, what about something like this?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7uzn3f2

The Carmelo-Howard trade was sort of rejected off hand as leaving those teams weak at some positions (NY weak at SF and ORL weak at C). We know that Danny likes to jump into deals. What if the Celtics could take the Knicks excess here (Chandler would be out with Howard and Amare) and send back a SF, while also providing the Magic with a serviceable big man to get them through the rest of the year?

Maybe MIN's interest in JO is gone with the latest injury news, and I'm not sure why they were interested in the first place, but this might be interesting. I certainly see a bunch of holes in this (why would MIN do this? would the Magic really want to trade for a disgruntled Carmelo? would the Knicks really deal away a superstar who likes playing in NY?), but this is just an attempt to put some of these rumors together in a way that might make a little sense. If the things that have been discussed so far have a little truth to them, this could be a scenario.

Thoughts?
I think Orlando wants Chandler too in this!

Rondo $11M
Pierce $16,8M
JJJ $1,09M
Bradley $1,63M
Moore $0,8M
2x1st picks $2,3M
5xRookie Min $2,5M

=$36M

Next year Beasley $8,2M

Trade Beasley for 1st pic + JO

36+8,2-1,2-0,5=$42,5M

61-42,5=$18,5M for Dwight Howard :)

So close :)

  • Let's Go Celtics!
Today's game just reinforced my desire to land Beasley. Bass needs be back on the bench to give them some firepower/consistency.

Starting line-up:
PG: Rondo
SG: Allen
SF: Pierce
PF: Beasley
C: Garnett (I know KG doesn't love it, but he has such a quickness advantage there against most centers)

2nd Unit:
Bass
Bradley
Wilcox
Pietrus
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Boston should grab Beasley while he's available.  If it costs them a first rounder, so be it!  The Clips pick looks like a late first rounder atm. Package that up with Jermaine O'Neal all it a day!

Beasley is young.  He's talented.  He can score: bags and buckets!

Jermain O'Neal.  He's old.  He is no longer talented.  And he hasn't scored on or off the court in a while!

I get that Beasley isn't the most exciting player we could get, but he is still young and he was the #2 draft pick. Who are we going to get with that Clippers pick that is even close to his ability.

The other thing with getting Beasley is that he is a 'win-now' player (I know that sounds weird, but he upgrades the roster) and a potential building block.

Keep the pick....I want to see whats behind curtain this draft.
this draft sucks thats wat yall dont get have a look at how terrible the quality of college basketball is yall wanna tank for players who aint fully developed

First off this draft does not sucks, in fact its the opposite. Second no major FA wants to come to Boston, for whatever reason. Name the last major FA to come to Boston? So all this talk about Howard coming to Boston sounds and looks great on paper but its not happening. I hate to be that guy but he is not.

to be fair though, when is the last time boston has been in a position where they have alot of capspace the past few years to attract major FA's??

Mid-round pick is OK, although Ainge will probably screw it up.

The Clippers pick is looking more and more like garbage. Move it for Beasley.
