I can say is I am glad all the Rondo haters are not our GM.   Some are so bad they want to trade or blame him when he has a triple double.

But see - that's the confusing thing about Rajon...

The game before - vs a CLE team deprived of Anderson Varejao...with Kyrie Irving missing some portion of the game due to his finger injury, etc etc - and he goes OH for Six??

Then he turns around and goes for a Triple Double vs one of the better defenses out there in MIL.

At times, he DOES seem disinterested out there. CP3? Deron? Russell? Derrick? They will eat your lunch if you sleep on them - guaranteed.

Will the Real Rajon Rondo please stand up?

And once he stands up, PLEASE remain standing - for the next 5 or 6 years?

So he's not allowed to have a bad game? How many bad games has Paul Pierce had this season? Ray Allen? KG? Why is Rondo the ONLY one crucified for it? Everyone has bad games.

I hate that I have to defend him like this because it makes me look like I'm only a Rondo fan when in all actuality I'm  a fan of the Celtics as a whole but the way people talk about him is really just unfair.

But see - that's the thing (IMO) that is separating Rajon from the CP3's, Derons, Russells, DRoses of the world - Rajon doesn't bring it quite as often as those 4 do. He simply doesn't.

There could be reasons for that - I'm guessing that none of those 4 I mention are playing with 3 HOFers (4 if we count Shaq).

I bet that could create some conflict.

But Rondo, apparently, now has the keys to the car - or maybe he doesn't. Maybe that's Doc's decision?

I love Rondo - I really do. But when I see my team suffering and there seems to be conflict, then Rajon should not be free of judgement - neither should KG, Paul or Ray for that matter, so yes you are right.

Danny coming out and saying this does not surprise me. He's a snake oil salesman and has no problem lying.

When Doc comes out with a statement that he has 100% confidence that Rondo will finish the year with the Celtics, I believe that.

To me it looks like the tension is between Pierce and Rondo. I think that the Celtics end up moving Pierce and maybe Ray.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I believe Doc.

Broussard, Amico, Vecsey, hoopsworld, etc aren't what I consider reliable sources.

I'll believe the rumors when sources like Ford, Wojo and Spears start reporting them.

I do think we are shopping everyone else though.

Agree with this...the only rumors circling around right now are ones from the most unreliable sources out there.

I agree as well.

Jackie MacMullen who I will believe ANY day over that **** Chris Broussard just confirmed on Around the Horn that Rondo isn't being shopped. Been on the phone all day with Doc, Celtics front office and GM's who were interested when Rondo was being shopped last season and no one knows anything of it. She also said the Celtics front office were not happy with these rumors. I'm sure the Rondo haters will say this is all lies and a smokescreen but whatever. Point is no credible source has come out and said anything. Everyone just took it and ran with it.

Chris Broussard and his "sources"? Really? Okay  ::)

I think Broussard is the one of the worst. I think his sources consist of recycled rumors, ESPNs trade machine and his own reasoning on why a trade makes sense. I don't remember him ever braking a story.

.. In all that time we did not talk once about any trades," Rivers said. "There was not one single thing about Rajon Rondo that crossed my desk."

When I lie this bad I usually look at the ground and sorta kick the dirt a little with my right foot

And see - this bears much thought, too.

After all, I think that NO ONE saw Perk leaving us via a trade in Febuary 2011. That was a shocker, and it was kept quiet, too.

there were no rumors about that one...it just popped up...I see no incentive for Doc/Danny to lie about this..if they were going to trade him in a week they would just stay quiet while the rumors kept going.

It's contrary to other stuff they've said where they say everyone is always on the block, they're constantly evaluating, yadda yadda.

Either you're thinking about it because you're in a transition year or you aren't doing your job.

He is absolutely the worst and at this point I'm so sick of hearing this man's name. I just had to change the channel from ESPN because if I hear "According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, Rajon Rondo..." one more time. I've heard it at LEAST 20 times today. Its unreal.

Doc and Danny both said that they aren't trying to trade Rondo, neither of them said he's not available at any price. If they get a great offer, they'll make the trade. But the rumors that they're shopping him seem to be false.

I cannot stand Broussard either.

Does anyone else get the feeling Broussard has it in for the Celtics?  It just seems to me like I have never heard a positive word out of his mouth about them.  I wouldn't be surprised if just floated this stuff out of spite.

Remember, Michael Wilbon hated Boston because he thinks we are all racists.  And he is ESPN royalty.

Great article tonight from Paul Flanney on Rondo...some quotes:

Quote
Rondo is also leading an offense that can’t score consistently and ranks 25th in points scored per 100 possessions. To hear some of the Celtics tell it, their problems are all about turnovers, of which Rondo commits more than anyone else, and not just turnovers, but turnovers of the “home run” type of play, for which Rondo is both renowned and reviled.

Quote
Ah, but the Celtics are more than 10 points better offensively when Rondo is in the game as opposed to when he's not. Perhaps the problem is that Rondo has outgrown his veteran teammates. He was asked to take on a larger role in the offense while some of those same veteran teammates worked their way into shape, and he not only did that, he did it while remaining true to his pass-first instincts.

Quote
His scoring is up, and so are his field goal and free throw attempts, but he’s still assisting on almost half the Celtics made baskets when he’s on the court. He’s also recorded three triple doubles this year, accounting for a third of those games in the league total this season, which just goes to show his unique all-around ability.

It hasn’t “worked” in the sense that the Celtics are 17-17 and listing along in the final playoff spot in the East. But is that Rondo’s fault or a roster that wasn’t built specifically to utilize his talents?

He’s also petulant. Or maybe he’s quirky. He’s difficult, which is another way of saying enigmatic. Is it fair to say that Rondo is “stubborn and high maintenance?”

Quote
So, Rondo.

Is he part of the solution – a building block for the future based on his age, talent and reasonable contract? Or, is he the most valuable trade asset for all of the above reasons for a rebuilding process that won’t be quick and painless? Even deeper: Are the Celtics confident that they can build around a player like Rondo, considering all of his peculiar talents and personality traits?

Broussard is an idiot. Always has been.

Most of the media personalities seem liberal to me, I can sence a true dislike of the Celtics from him, and Chris Weber and many other experts.  Not sure where this comes from ,  seems they were rasied to love the Lakers and hate the Celtics ?? Whats up with dat.?

So yea...everything on TV is biased for the Lakers , and I'm not sure that its all 100% basketball related.  Based on false preceptions and not fact tha Boston is "EVIL PLACE" ::) I've never seen anything good  decent folk in Boston.  thanks for JO KEEM NOAH ( chief loudmouth ) saying this crap every chance he has.

I thought C Web always showed the Celtics love, up until this year and last previous years I thought he always picked us to come out the east

Predictable reaction to no news whatsoever on this blog.

Ainge isn't going to give Rondo away. Nothing new there.

If he could get Gasol or DWill, Rondo's on the next plane out of town, all these gleeful overreactions to Flannery et al notwithstanding.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."
