While I hate to stand up for the Clippers/Sterling on anything, I have no problem with this. He was using their trademark to profit without permission and without compensating them for it. While, that is fine for him, since it is small change, it does make a precedent, and I think it opens the clippers up to bigger fish who will claim that they can use their trademark without compensating them for it.
I am by no means an expert on this stuff, but I have seen enough frivilous lawsuits to know that big organizations needs to be VERY careful about things like this, because while this guy might not be really taking advantage of it, there will be others who will.
