Why do people keep talking about weed as though smoking it is akin to murdering someone? I don't smoke, never have, I don't drink b/c I hate the taste of liquor (could be b/c I went opposite of my alcoholic father) but I could care less what others want to do as long as it doesn't harm anyone else! Heck, people get KILLED by drunks/drunk people MANY times a day and it's legal (many of you drink and have been drunk), yet he is the devil for smoking weed??? Cigarettes kill people MANY times a day and second hand smoke harms others, LEGAL! Get out of here with that mess!! The guy has a crazy personality so I hear (saw some rambling by him on twitter a while back too) but the last thing I care about is the weed he smokes/smoked! DWest (a fan favorite) smokes weed too (which is his business) and he is mentally unstable, but most of the same ppl ready to crucify Beasley are the same ones who long for DWest to be a Celts again (I miss Redz too, side note)! I can never understand why people choose to get high and mighty over people who smoke weed, while the things you do in secret (b/c you aren't a celebrity/athlete) are far worse but no one knows about it!!

Well said. TP.

Beasley's problem is not the weed, its the immaturity.

Each to their own I say and if he or who ever wants to smoke/drink then that is their choice. I should have re worded my statement to more along the lines of. When you are involved in a World Wide sport such as the NBA when its known that a player has been caught with an banned substance (correct me if im wrong but he got caught in college as well didnt he?) especially in this day and age with social media it puts alot of attention onto that player and then in retrospect a team and organisation. But I do agree that the main reason for the issues would be his immaturity. People make mistakes, Hopefully people learn and dont make them again, part of life and growing up.

I would be reluctant to throw in the clippers pick for beasley....with our draft luck that pick could turn out to be an impact player...
I flat out wouldn't , but Jermaine and something definitely.  Our rebounding last night looked really good, my guess is this season with JO's health he is a legit 3rd string center.  I'd rather give 3rd string minutes to greg for development.  Ship JO out add dooling in (what a disappointment he has been, turnover machine for a supposed backup pg)

If danny is keeping rondo this could be a nice running team built around him. beasley, green, jjj, bradley, steisma, bass WILCOX, etc

This was my first thought as well. However the clippers pick will likely be around the early 20s. Beasley is almost certanly going to have alot more potential then anyone we draft in the 20s.

The first thing that strikes me about beasley is how he is viewed as a PF. I've even seen him listed as a 6'10 PF, which he is not. He was measured at 6'7 without shoes before the draft and his game is much more SF then it is PF. If you look at his stats he really is an almost mirror image of Jamison's. Jamison has a better back to the basket game and moves better without the ball but I believe Beasley is more effective scoring on the perimeter then Jamison.

If the Celtics trade JO and the Clips 1st for Beasley I really believe that with the proper group around him he could become a 3rd option for a championship caliber team.

While I agree with you about the lateness of the clippers pick, there have been heaps of great players taken in the 20s of strong drafts. I'd just hate for that guy to be a really solid player and us ending up with the beaze who hasn't exactly shrouded himself in NBA glory so far.

What if they gave us Wesley Johnson for our pick? Wesley Johnson's been insignificant for them so far but might be interesting over here with a less big oriented system.

Or even Darko? Would rather have Johnson though. We know what we have to know about Darko.

NBA glory, no. But he hasnt been terrible. His first years in Miami he was solid then was sent to pasture for Bosh and James. His first year in Minn he put up good numbers but this really isnt the right team for him. He and love are not a good combo at SF and PF, with the drafting of D williams he really doesn't have a place on that team.

At 23 he could be a acclimation project that makes Danny look like a genius. All Star talent picked up for a late 1st? You really turn that down when your a team with minimal young assets.

To be fair this draft is stocked with guys who should make NBA teams and be contributors off then bench. Sd far as franchise altering talent it looks as of now that there is only one guy. The rest of the top five should hopefully be starter material on a contender. As for the rest you are looking at rotational players. That's how it looks as of now and many have backed off saying this draft is like 84, 96, or 03.

In looking at Beasley I find it hard to think you will find a player in the late 20s that can match his potential, seeing as how is only 23,  or his production. You could... And you definitely could find a guy with less character issues, but our locker room as of now can withstand his charter issues. He has 20 ppg ability, is young, and can potentially be a guy we use going forward long term. He has never played with a group of veterans like he would have here in Boston.

I don't want to give up a 1st but I think it unlikely you find a better prospect in the 23 -27 range of this draft then Michael Beasley.

Smoking weed is fine with me, but not when you get paid millions of dollars for a job that drug tests you. It shows a certain amount of stupidity and immaturity on his part that makes me question his ability to stay in the league. Also, smoking as much as he seems to cannot be good for one's ability to play professional basketball.

I definitely see Minny as a good possible trade partner. Rondo could do awesome stuff there and Rubio can't shoot and has a ways to go. They have log jams at wing and pg, and we have good vets with expiring contracts that can help teach them how to play.

After beating the Clippers they could be thinking of a pretty deep playoff run.

I just think both teams have things attractive to the other.

How tall is he?

He looks as tall as K-Love (6'10) [and taller than Brewer who's 6'9] in the vids, especially the second one...Is he 6'7, 6'9 or 6'10? Is he legit undersized?

I hope we get him >>>>
