Just noticed Beasley's jersey is 8.

Super excited. We're in for a surprise one way or another I think. At least something's happening.

Lakers turned down a Beasley for a draft pick...

JO and Moore for Beasley? I'm not giving them a 1st round pick, and I'm not giving them youth other than Moore.

i was against trading for beasley based his past performances however that he has just turned 23, and could easly more potential than any late rounder danny could pick.

hope it's jermaine and clipper pick for

beasley

don't think he helps this year but might not be the worst building block

again, I'd be on board with trading JO and a 1st for Beasley if the idea were that Beasley is likely a better talent gamble than any player we'd get with the Clippers pick -- if it weren't for the fact that Beasley is probably going to be looking for 4 years / $30-35 million this summer, and I bet some team is going to give it to him, even though he's probably only worth about half that right now.
He's only 23 and he's an athletic 6'9 player who can shoot but needs to work on his shot selection and defense. That's better than a late first. Next year if someone signs him to an offer that high we might be able to move him for a first. I think it's a good deal granted I haven't seen him play a ton.

He's a free agent this summer.  We'd only have half a season to evaluate / develop him and then we'd have to pay him or watch him leave.

He's a restricted free agent so we could match or trade him

Well, I'd be fine with having him for a year on the QO, but if another team offers him 3-4 years at $7-8 million+ a year, I think he's gone.  No match, so no trade.

I feel like for him to get an offer that high he would really need to play well for us after the trade, since right notre he hasn't earned a contract like that. So if he plays  well enough to get an offer like that then we'd match.

I admittedly haven't seen him play a whole lot. Could he fit with Green on the court at the same time?

There's nothing of substance backing up these rumors, is there?

People seem to be fitting Beasley with a new jersey, when it's just a whole lot of speculation, from what I can tell.

  • GOT IT!!!
Any trade that involved removing JO's corpse I'm for BUT Beasley doesn't excite me that much. The guy has really only shown promise when he wasn't handcuffed to a system. We all know what that means in terms of playing under Doc.

He could, if he played at the 4.

From what I understand he's like Brandon Jennings at the Power Forward. But with his speed and athleticism and Rondo feeding him the ball as a primary scorer, I can see that changing.

If we decide to make this move I hope it's not the only one. He doesn't help with our two biggest problems turnovers and rebounding. Trading away jo for a 3/4 plus moving kg to the 5, would mean we need to run much more. That would be great for Rondo but not so much for Pierce.
