For just JO, this trade would be a no brainer.

I want no part of Beasley long term, but he could be used in a S/T in the offseason.

Beasley actually somewhat interesting in the long-term.  It's the short-term that's the problem.  Doesn't make us better now.

Good point about the S&T possibilities though.  If we're going down, having an RFA like Beasley is better than having a UFA like JO.

SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari

The belated David West consolation prize if it ends up happening.

Can't see why Minny would want JO though.

Think they want JO's (expiring) contract more than JO.  Since Beasley is expiring too, we'd have to include something else in the equation.  A pick and/or a player.

JO + Bass for Beasley + Darko works.  I think I'd do that deal, reluctantly if there's a chance to keep Bass long-term, and as soon as I can if there isn't.  Alternately, maybe we could pry away a guy like Ellington who can score a little but is buried in the rotation.

I'd be concerned about Beasley getting really selfish here (even more so, I mean), given that he's in a contract year.  But I'd hope the veterans and culture here would keep him in line.

I'd be very, very happy with a Beasley/Darko for JO/Bass deal.

Would this be enough:

Minnesota trades Michael Beasley and Anthony Tolliver
Boston trades Jermaine O'Neal, E'Twaun Moore, rights to Milwaukee 2012 protected 2nd rounder

Minnesota trims a little more payroll (about $1.6 mil), gets a cheap SG in Moore, and the chance to get a 2nd rounder from Milwaukee.

I'd be happy with that deal

march 1st is when players in their 1st year with a new team can be traded(Bass, Dooling, Wilcox). That why these next 2 weeks will be when all the trades go down this year . It is usually sooner that march 1st,but because of the lockout it is pushed back .

So tomorrow could be a big trade day

I doubt straight up deal makes sense for Minny.  Beasley, Tolliver and we take on Ridnours contract for Bradley, Jermaine O'Neal and Brandon Bass.  Or simply Beasley and Tolliver for Jermaine O'Neal, Bradley and Moore.

I have a feeling that Johnson or Moore may be involved.

I don't think they should give up Johnson, unless the Celtics get another pick in return.  This team is old.  They need youth.

JJJ, in his limited time, had definitely shown me he was worthy of a late 1st round pick.  If Beasley could be drafted all over again, does he slip past the lottery?  I think so, given that he is a pothead.

I love the idea of swapping JO for Beasley, adding in Moore and maybe a future 2nd rounder.  But for JJJ? I pass.

Good point. TP.

I think a young team like the Timberwolves could definitely use a guy like Keyon Dooling so they won't be so young. Their average age is far too low. Teams with a higher average age fare better in both the post season and the regular season. So I think Dooling + JO for Beasley and another one of their young guys makes sense for both teams.

That I would do in a heartbeat.

If I am Danny there is ONE player I am most hesitant to trade...and it's now Avery Bradley.

I have a feeling that Johnson or Moore may be involved. Johnson didn't play last night for some reason. I know Bass was back, but JO is still out so he should have gotten some playing time against the Cav's.

Or that could have just been Doc being Doc, but I thought the kid had been playing solid.

You really don't want to have to give up Bass or Wilcox right now. They are playing really good ball, better than PP has been.

But if they do get him for little, convince KG and Ray to come back next year to mentor the young players this team could have some potential sooner than later.

  Rondo/Bradley
  Rivers(still dreaming on that one)Allen/Peitrus
  Peirce/Green
Beasley/Bass/Johnson(if not traded int he Beasley trade)
  KG/Wilcox/rookie or FA

And I could see half way threw the season Green starting over PP for athletic reasons. This team could run with Miami easy!
I doubt Ainge would give up JJJ, especially to a team loaded with at the 4.

I'd be shocked if we dealt bradley now.

I think it's the exact opposite.  I'm not sure a guy with Beasley's track record is a good fit for a rebuilding team, but as for this season?  Have you seen the Celtics' offense?  If this team doesn't immediately start scoring a lot more points with Beasley, it's time to seriously think about firing Doc no matter how much money he's owed.  If you can't get buckets out of Beasley, you need to think about another line of work than coaching.
