Celts get: Calderon, Ed Davis, Burks or Hayward, Utah 1st

Utah gets: Rondo

Raps get: Millsap, Dooling

Celts get better half court PG who can knock down jumper and free throws, two young players who will contribute right away plus one of Utah’s late lottery picks in good draft.  Package O’Neal, Bass or Wilcox + LAC pick to get big.

Rotation of Calderon, Allen, Pierce, KG, Pietrus, Bradley, Davis, Bass/Wilcox, Hayward/Burks, Center via trade

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Meh. Hayward is a good prospect, but I'd rather have Millsap than Hayward/Calderon.

Would you rather have Milsap or Jefferson?

Jefferson I guess, but its close. If I had a real center lined up, Millsap.

What about http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7f4r85w?

In addition, Tor would get Utah 1st rounder and LAC pick.

I'd simplify it.  Rondo for Calderon and Davis.  The Raptors get an upgrade at PG, and while they give up a nice prospect in Davis, they have the European kid coming over possibly next year, to put next to Bargnani, so Davis is replacable for them.

For the C's, they get a PG who fits in with their core a bit more, because he can take some of the scoring burden off the Big 3, while still being a good passer.  Plus, they get a very talented young big man to try to groom.

I know its not the type of deal that blows you away, but this is probably the type of deal we would be looking at for Rondo.  Quality replacement, plus solid prospect with high upside.

There is no way that Toronto does this trade.  Davis is a younger better potential player at PF than Milsap (which is what Toronto is going for, the future).  Plus I don't think that Utah gives up Milsap and a #1 for Rondo...

To be honest I don't think we would make the trade either.  You don't trade Rondo unless you get an all star back IMO and in your trade we defnitely don't.  We would just be laying the groudnwork for mediocrity...

I would def consider pulling the trigger on that deal as I think Davis is going to be a very good player in this league.  15-18 ppg/10-12 rpg type.  If I were the raptors, I would worry about Rondo's attitude towards playing on a team at least 3-4 years away from respectability...and in Canada.

Utah would want nothing to do with this deal.  They still think Heyward and Burks are going to be great players. They'd rather trade Jefferson over Millsap too.  Jefferson/Harris for Rondo/Allen... Maybe.  Rondo isn't as highly regarded around the league as he is in Boston.  He's a great passer and plays with fire... But he can't score and he's always being called out for one thing or another.  IMO the Celts are better off keeping Rondo.
