not pretty, if you trade one of ray, paul or kevin, lessens your chances of bringing garnett and allen back for cheap which should be valuable, think danny should perhaps offer exprings plus protected picks to get decent bigs. Any decent big should be a huge upgrade over o'neal, who isn't good and hasn't been since even before signing him from the heat and should have been amnested on principal alone.

Given the stats they use, the folks at Wages of Win would probably tell you that a player like Chris Kaman would be a big downgrade from a healthy Jermaine O'Neal.

we play the heat 3 times in april during the normal season.

that means if its a 7 game series with the heat in round 1, we would play the heat around possibly 10 times in the span of a month.

So where will this put us draft wise?  Out of the lotto and looking in I would assume.

it's a sad thought how people have relegated the boston celtics as mere pretenders, can't blame them, i just hope that if we ever enter the playoffs, we can pull off some surprises...

Everyone wants to see that.  However, I don't see that happening on the court and last night didn't convince me otherwise.  There is a big difference between a lotto pick and non lotto pick.

It's important to remember the stats they use at Wages of Wins are DESCRIPTIVE, not PREDICTIVE. The stats they use are raw.

That is, these season predictions are based on what the stats for every player/team is as of the All-Star Break. All of our efficiency stats are low because of the losing streak. If you had calculated these same stats at the end of our winning streak, they would be different.

While it is worthwhile to look at these stats, you have to remember they do not take into account things like injury, suspension, etc. etc, nor do they control for good players going through slumps (see Pierce, Paul). If our guys aren't playing well, our stats will be terrible. The fact that our core group hasn't been entirely healthy yet, and Pierce and Rondo have been inconsistent so far, there is reason to believe that our team will improve in the second half of the season.

To me that looks closer to a 1-in-3 tossup for the C's to make it into the 8th slot.
