Don't know if this has been posted yet...but I saw on SS and R that Pau's averaging 19.8 pts, 10.5 rebs, 4.3 assists, and 1.3 steals over the last four games.

Even before this binge, his numbers weren't shabby at all.

I'd hate to see Rondo go, but with THIS latest rumor, our PG has now been associated with TWO top 10 players in the game in Pau and CP3.

Not bad company, at all. If this thing goes down, I'd love for BOS to somehow squeeze McRoberts out of the deal, too, but we'll see.

McRoberts is basically buried on the Laker's bench, and with the signing of Sheed, he'll probably be buried further.

Would you give them Bass for McRoberts?

Tough question, but my gut says no.

My head, though, says that if we asked for McRoberts along with Pau then I'm guessing that LA will ask for Bass, as well as Rondo and JO.

I'd rather keep Bass if this thing goes down. Losing JO will be bad enough, in that I loved his shotblocking.

I almost talked myself into (see front page) but I'm still a "no" on this one.

The thing is, this is just the kind of thing that Danny is famous for.  Trades that we wouldn't even consider that are bold and creative and come out of nowhere.

Oh, and if it actually happens, we'll have to give Eric Pincus of HoopsWorld some credit for floating it first.
I feel like deals that are rumored for weeks rarely happen. I think there will be a deal but I doubt it's gasol for rondo

I agree..I would be shocked if this trade happened..plus the fact its not being reported by any of the usual guys(woj, spears, broussard) shows me it probabl carries no weight.

I think a trade will go down this march..but probably something we don't see coming..like the perkins trade

What if you have to give up Bass but can keep JO?

PF - Kevin Garnett, Chris Wilcox, Josh McRoberts
C  - Pau Gasol, Jermaine O'Neal

Love Bass but like other people say he's going to be overpaid after this year. Keeping Jermaine is cool.

I guess that for me, Bass brings a Powe-like quality to the team.

I dislike discussing trades on here, especially this one. But I'd rather be out in front of a potentially major trade like this than shocked like I was in Feb 2011.

L.A. is going to want Bass regardless.  They aren't giving up the best player in the deal without at least getting a decent young player at that position.  Rondo, JO, Bass for Gasol and then one of Walton/Blake/Artest.  Saves the Lakers money long term and adds another piece for them, which is what it is going to take to land the best player in the deal.  just my take, the same one I had on page 2 and seemingly matches with some of the latest rumors as well.

They have been said to be looking to move Harris, not happy with his fit.

This allows them to save money this year, and a lot more next year while having a serviceable PG in place that can help the young big men by putting the ball where it needs to go.

Celtics may have to send (or likely would have to) a 1st to Utah in this move.

I can pretty much guarantee that if the Lakers demand Bass, Ainge will demand at least Goudelock in return.  There's no way he's giving up Rondo and Bass for Gasol and crap.

Agree with Goudelock. Don't want a piece of Blake or Walton.

well sure, but that is the only way I think LA makes that move.  Perhaps they would give up Goudelock, but I really think they are going to want to dump bad contracts, and when you give up the best player that often happens (like Orlando requiring anyone that wants Dwight to also take Hedo).

But Gasol ain't no Howard.  The Lakers couldn't even get Houston or NO to take any of their bad contracts in the Chris Paul deal.  There's no way Ainge takes on Artest and Walton is just too useless.  He might go for a package of Gasol and Blake but I'd be totally shocked if he didn't demand Goudelock to seal the deal.
