for Luis Scola, Terrence Williams, Hasheem Thabeet, and the Knicks first rounder?

Houston is one team i can see going after Pierce hard. They're a very talented, young team but they need veteran leadership and more consistent scoring to take make it to the next level.

Scola would help the Celtics monumentally with their rebounding issues. Terrence Williams is a talented scorer and defender who can easily be averaging 15+ points in the right situation. Hasheem Thabeet can be a long term project for the C's who could one day be a reliable back up center.

Celtics Line Up:

PG- Rondo, Dooling
SG- Allen, Bradley
SF- Williams, Pietrus
PF- Scola, Bass
C- Garnett, O'Neal

As much as i love Paul Pierce i would be a fan of this trade because of what it does for the team moving forward. Thoughts?

From what I understand, Houston seems pretty interested in going after Deron Williams pretty hard this summer.  Pierce would either be a consolation prize if they can't get D-Will or a piece they want to add next to him.

Three ways to answer this question.

1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

2. I love Pierce more than 99% of my family and I've never seen him live and I'm not even from Boston. Or US. Or Ireland. And there's a 120% chance 100.000 people love him more than me and they're all from Boston.

3. With a question: Would you trade your father for Hitler?

Ainge has no interest in that team or go-forward cost structure. It traps the C's in nowhere land. Exactly the opposite of what you need.

I wouldn't trade Pierce to anyone ... he should retire in green, period. I don't ever want to see The Truth in a different uniform, playing against the Celtics. Thirty-four to the rafters.

No. I don't want Scola. What purpose does he serve for the rebuilding process...? Take up cap space? Yeah, NO!

It's Dallas that wants Derron.  Houston is very happy with Lowry...

I like Patterson from Houston.  I would try to get him in package but trading the Captain is a nauseating thought to me.

It's been reported that Houston was chasing after Williams last February but were outbid by New Jersey.  And Morey seems like the kind of GM who would have no problems trying to sell high with Lowry.

He will be retired as a Celtic regardless of what team he finishes on.

I'd trade Pierce if the deal made sense long-term. I don't think this one does.

I would however trade rondo for Lowry, a young rotation player (parsons, or Budinger would be groovy) and a 1st.

Edit: they wouldn't, but I would.
