I was thinking that maybe San Antonio would be interested in advancing further in the playoffs and having another legit threat to their team. Sorry if this or something like it has ever been mentioned before, but what about a trade like this:

Pierce for R. Jefferson/Kawhi Leonard/2012 1st round pick.

No doubt their pick would be in the mid-twenties at best, but we'd have three 1st rounders this year. We do take on a contract that is a year longer with Jefferson's, but the Spurs get to compete for a title again for the next couple of years while we go into our rebuilding mode with the likes of Leonard and the pick as pieces to move forward with.

With the unpredictable health of Ginobili, as he is now out for another 2 weeks of action, I thought this to be a legit idea for both teams, and their needs.

I don't think the team is getting enough for giving up Pierce.

I like Kawhi Leonard quite a lot and the first round pick is nice but two more years of Richard Jefferson's contract is quite a drag. Need more incentive to take on that deal.
