This is just me, but I think Doc is phony when it comes to defense. I think it's just something that happened because KG came here and joined Perk and Tony Allen. Then it was cool so Rondo and Pierce joined in. I give the credit to Thibs and maybe a little to Clifford Ray.

Besides his absurd comment that you practice defense when you practice offense I think it's pretty clear Doc doesn't really care about defense.

For example. Was Glen Davis a good defender? He was a fat Toine. Doc kept giving him minutes. Lots and lots of minutes.

Who's the better defender?  Avery Bradley or Keyon Dooling? Seeing Keyon out there is sorta a slap in the face to telling young players they have to defend.

Where's Tony Allen? Oh, he's not here any more.

Where's Perk? Oh he's not here either.

We have a former Big Ten DPOY on the bench who produces every time he touches the floor. So instead JON was out there getting torched.

Steams gets no time. He could get SOME time.  Pietrus is a better defender than Ray. But he let's Ray stay in even when Ray's shot is wwaaayyyyy off. News flash Doc. If Ray shoots 15 times he'll make 3 3s. Doesn't mean anything. Pietrus can probably do that too. Rondo and Avery probably can too. Most of us can.

I think Doc has been told to tank or something. Something isn't right. To coach this bad you have to do it on purpose. The thing is he did this last year too.

This from the guy who refuses to believe that JO gets playing time because he helps our defense.

Yeah, he really helped last night, didn't he?

Haha, I almost forgot how short term your player evaluations are.

7 points, 10 fouls, 0 steals the last two games.  6 fouls in 18 minutes against the Magic 3 weeks ago.

Perhaps he could defend better if we gave him a cane

It's hard to blame Doc's defensive system too much.  We're 3rd in defensive efficiency this season.

I'm sure if Doc traded teams with Thibs, he'd be doing equally well or better.

Yes trade for Thibs!!!!!!!

But since that is sort of impossible being that bulls won't let Thibs go...
Let me spend some time telling Doc what to do.

Dear Doc, Please SIMPLIFY our offense.
This means less structure and more improvisation off of simple plays.

Notice how the KNICKS won 7 games in a row with a rookie (jeremy Lin) running a pick and roll over and over and over again.  Notice how the coach did not need to yell at his players for "knowing the playbook, knowing the plays"  or "knowing there spots"  or "focus" or "chemistry/timing"  or any of that garbage Doc talks about.

ok i guess thats all i have.  Oh and Doc should give the young guys a break.  Play Bradley and Johnson a lot.  I don't think Dooling is very good defensively and should be on bench unless bradley and rondo are injured.

I also don't like when Doc yells at his players.  Sometimes in basketball there is more than one right answer, so be easy on guys that are obviously trying to help the team.

And stop yelling because if you keep yelling you will have ZERO vocal chords left, chill ouuut.  If you need to yell at least yell in the proper way, breath from diaphram and use support from your ribs instead of thrashing your vocal chords together over and over again, maaan.

0 steals from our center. Is that the best "anti-stat" you were able to find? How about the 3 blocks in the last 2 games? How about the 9 blocks in the last 5? How about the fact that he's second in the NBA in charges taken per game while playing a lick over 20 minutes? Way to frame an argument.

Defensive efficiency?

This is how we look in way too many games. Not Ali. The other one

Seeing as how we're always behind due to his 42% shooting and inability to get on the fast break he better be good at taking charges. All those times the roadrunner ran over the coyote those were charges. That's JON all right

I'd rather have Pop. He's amazing at managing minutes. Winning without Ginobili, Tony Parker the only player playing 35 minutes a game and still doing well. He even changed his entire gameplan as Tim Duncan ages to a more run and gun team so Tony Parker could have a better time.

This.
Run and gun Celtics were both effective and fun to watch against the Bulls. Regular Celtics were not.
He's also a very funny and likeable guy. I always root for the Spurs in the West because of him and Timmy.

We're not always behind when JO comes out. We do better when he plays than when he's out. Talking about cartoons doesn't change facts.

Thibs teams can't score without Derrick Rose.
